Chapter Fourteen: Coming Out

Hey guys I'm ever so sorry for the late update!

I finally finished college (well Sixth Form) on Friday and my parents decided to take us all to our caravan in wales so I therefore had no Wi-Fi connection which is why I hadn't updated on time!

Again I can't say how sorry I am and I hope u all enjoy this chapter!

After my mom and dad left my room to go to sleep as they were mates they always slept together, I managed to do the same and fell asleep as thoughts about mates and Blake drifted through my mind before I finally fell into a deep sleep.

I woke up to the sound of knocking on my bedroom door, to hear my mom telling me to open the door quickly.

I did as I was told and unlocked the door standing behind it so no one that may be walking through the halls could see me, and opened it enough to allow her entrance to my room.

She walked in carrying a tray of food and snacks giggling like a school girl.

My dad had informed me the night before that I wasn't to leave my room until it was time for the party.

I could already hear the pack mind linking me with greetings of happy birthday, and my dad and Jake also wishing me good luck for later meaning my dad has told Jake about today's events as he was one of the two people trusted to know my secret.

Me and my mom stayed in my room all day playing box games, talking doing each other's hair in preparation for the party that was now only half an hour away.

I curled my mom's hair as she had shoulder length hair, I used a thin wand curler so it was in tiny ringlets, as she curled my hair into long brown waves.

I sat still with my eyes closed whilst my mom added makeup to my unblemished face after she had done my hair leaving it in natural waves falling from my right shoulder and down to the front of my waist.

After she had finished my makeup she told me to open my eyes, when I did I couldn't believe what I saw in the mirrors reflection, that it was me I was seeing in the mirror.

The makeup she had applied was only slight tints of blue as it was my favourite colour, and also matched the dress I would be wearing tonight.

The navy blue dress was long and it had a lace pattern that left my back revealed and the lace covered my shoulders and as it was long sleeved, my arms too.

I had just finished getting ready after putting on my heels to match the dress as my dad knocked on the door telling me that it was time.

I looked to my mom for comfort and she looked at me "good luck honey, me and your dad will be waiting for you at the bottom of the stairs" she hugged me again before leaving me.

"Don't walk down the stairs until your father had finished introducing you." She said quietly as she walked away linking hands with my dad.

"Also remember the Grass land pack will be there too and there will be a lot of men and women in suits and dresses when you reach the bottom. Best of luck sweetie I will see you soon, she said as she dragged my father's gaze away from the stairs and he smiled approvingly at me and hugged me comfortingly before taking my mother's hand on his arm and walking her down the stairs.

As he reached the middle of the stairs he started his speech to the packs.

"We welcome all guests to share this very important night with you, my heirs 18th birthday that signifies them becoming an adult, the transformation won't take place until tomorrow night and I welcome you to join us then as well.

Without further ado I present to you my heir and future Alpha".

As I saw my mom and dad recede to the bottom of the stairs as a signal for me to come down.

I took a deep breath before taking a step down towards the crowd and the further I progressed the more gasps I got, as I looked up I saw the shocked expressions on their faces.

The disbelieving looks from them, it wasn't as bad as I expected it to be, they didn't look mad just shocked and awe struck.

This made me grin and shiver internally as I had no idea how this speech would turn out.

When I reached the bottom of the stairs I looked up again to scan the crowd finding one set of eyes and I knew straight away that he was my mate.

Blake was my mate!

I had never felt so happy on my birthday before, realising I still had to speak explaining the situation to the pack.

I looked away from Blake which made his facial expression change to one of hurt. I gave him a quick wink which made his face turn shocked and pleased.

"I realise that you are all quite shocked at my change from Theo a male to Selene female.

No one besides a trusted few knew about me being a girl as I was brought up, treated and trained as a man.

When I was born I was one of two twins, unfortunately my brother died due to a weak heart. So to protect the pack and myself I was ordered to live as a boy until a time I was told otherwise."

I looked to the crowd who seemed to understand.

"Not even my future Beta John knew of this, I hated lying to you as I consider you all as my close family and I would die protecting you as Future Alpha of the Waterfall Pack."

After the last part of my speech howls sounded and growls from the mention of my dying, I smiled as I knew it meant that they forgave me and accepted my new status as a female Alpha of the Waterfall Pack.

I was happy to be accepted, and as I looked through the mass of bodies I noticed all the winks and howls thrown my way as I realised I was dressed as a girl in a dress in front of an audience of unmated males.

But unfortunately for them I think I may have already found my mate.

As soon as the thought crossed my mind my mom had grabbed my arm and began leading me to the end of the staircase where couples and Alphas who were invited from other packs to the party, another way of showing our alliance is by showing them they are welcome into our home.

I must have greeted everyone before Jake, his wife Maddie and John were next and he looked me up and down in disbelief, the girl who had kicked his ass on countless occasions.

This must have been a shock to him, to know the truth when we were practically brother and sister and he wasn't allowed to know the truth.

I looked at him for a response but he looked like things made sense, not so surprised like I thought he'd be.

But he just said "you look different, a good different". With a huge grin on his face.

He knew I was going to get him later for that smirk, however I was glad he wasn't mad at me.
