"

I will try to help you. Are you both sure that you don't like to marry the men Pitashree decided for? He even opted out any Archery Competition in the Swayambar. You are free to marry anyone of your choice. You are a free human being. You are not a cattle to be married to anyone."

Amba maintained it with confidence to her two younger sister's who were blushing hard by listening to her. Her both sister's were naive and gullible.
Ambika and Ambalika looked like two young girls in love.

"What happened to you?!! Please don't supress. Tell me everything." She insisted again.

Ambika's face got crimson red. "I am in love, Jiji. I love someone." She told her.

"Me too." Ambalika batted her larger eyelashes to Amba.

"You too?!! To whom?!!" Amba asked both of them.

"To King Bichitravirya of Hastinspur. We have seen him in the Akher or hunting. Some dacoits were behind us and we need the help that he gave us without asking a single question. He was very gentleman. He drove them out single-handedly. We both were charmed by him and took a vow to marry him and him only. Please Jiji help us to marry him. Pretty please."
Ambika confessed truthfully to her eldest sister.

Ambalika looked with pleading eyes to her too

Ambalika looked with pleading eyes to her too. She silently agreed to her sister Ambika's confession.

"He is very handsome, Jiji. He is truly beautiful soul too. We want to marry just him. Him only. Unless we will be virgin till end." Ambalika bashfully opened her mouth this time.

But her pleading had touched Amba's heart. At this time of Mahabharata girls and their emotions were truly valueless. They were treated as the pawn by their own family, parents, masses, siblings, sons and husbands. They were used to create a powerful offspring to secure the legacy of their father and as well as of their husband.
She felt bad for both of them. Hence she literally wrote a letter to the King of Hastinapur on the behalf of her two sisters.

"Pranipat Manyabar (bow to a great soul),

We the twin daughters of Kashi King Kashya Ambikesh, Princesses Ambika and Ambalika both wanted to politely request you to make us free from the unwanted bondage of marriage. We had given our heart and soul in the feets of Hastinapur Naresh who had already saved our honours from the thugs and promised to come to our help whenever we required it again. We love our father deeply but due to our naivety we gave our heart to the mighty King of Hasinapur that day. In this respect if we are forced to marry to someone else than we have left no other choice than Atma-Daha (burn to death). Kindly save our lives. Any kind of unwanted delay can cost our lives.

Yours Two Dasi (maid),

Ambika & Ambalika"

"How is the letter sounds?!!" Amba folded the scroll and asked timidly her twin sisters who were jumping in joy. They hugged their eldest sibling very tightly. They three laughed together without knowing that this was most probably their last laughter together.
...

"Now you are sanguine, Bhism?!! At last now you will obey my command. I hope." Satyabati told him smugly. She was relieved that her plan was going to be executed now. She knew by heart that her stepson would not dare to refute her demands now.

"As you wish, Mother. But there is a slight hinderenance." Bhism replied her.

"Now what?!!" She asked him quite impatiently. She wanted to marry her son immediately. She knew that her son's days were limited.

"Princess Amba. She will be in the Swayambar too." Bhism answered her politely. He never uttered a single loud word at the very presence of his young stepmother.

"Then abduct her too. Or leave her there. Alone. What's the problem?!!" She stomped her feet in anger. She was not going to listen to any logic. Now or never.

"But mother entire India knew about her preference of King Shalva. We can't force her. Nor can leave her behind. It is against the rule of the Swayambar." Bhism answered her.

"I don't care. We are Kuru vansha. We can make or even break the rules as you wish." She yelled on the top of her lungs. She seemed pissed off.

Bhism nodded his head dismissively and slowly went away of the room. He needed some alone time to think over the possible outcome of this. Alas, he had no right to reject his mother's unwise orders. If he had, then Amba would be on his side as his queen, not his life threatening opponent.
...

Bhism's POV :

I don't know why my heart started to bleed whenever I hear the name "Amba". I tried hard to convince my heart's flutterings but the stupid thing is not listening to me. Till now I am following my vow of celibacy with sincerity and perfection. There were so many girls and women in Aryabart who came and fade away from my life. I never care a damn of them. They were all lustful over my youth. Drooling over my body. Greedy for my power. None were innocent in heart and soul. But why did I always have such a tug in heart whenever I think about her?!! Amba!! I heard that she is a fierce warrior princess. She even articlutated over administration, politics and every department of ministry and arts. She is practically a perfect queen material. But my young mother Satyabati will never accept any challenge to her dynasty. She was in need of submissive and docile type of daughter-in-laws like those two foolish twin sisters Ambalika and Ambika. Not like Amba. She is firy and daring princess.

Good Lord!! My heart is thumping aloud again!! What can I do with this stupid heart?!!
...

Amba's POV :

The work nested over my shoulders by Lord Yama seemed impossible to complete. Bhism is not a man to be bowled by beauty or lured by charm. He has piercing gaze to read one's heart and soul. Then how can I win over him?!! It seems utterly ridiculous job for a young girl like me. Being a Princess I had already lost my dignity when I begged for marriage of my sister's with that unworthy King of Hastinapur, son of that greedy and cunning Matsya Kanya Satyabati. Now I am not going to loose it again.
....

She was unaware about the touch of destiny in her life. Both of them were rapidly approaching together to their respective devastating fate. As life long foe forever.
