The night was fun. May live band sa tabi ng beach at doon na rin kami nag-dinner. Napaka-romantic ng ambience ng lugar habang nakaupo kami sa buhanginan. Naiilawan din ang buong lugar ng mga ilaw na nakalagay sa loob ng maliliit na boteng gawa sa salamin.

The song played by the band was sometimes groovy and sometimes cheesy. May mga kasabay kaming matatanda na nagsasayawan pa nga.

"How do you like the place so far?"

I focused my gaze on the couples dancing. "It feels nice. I've never really had a vacation like this since I came back. Thank you for taking me here."

"I haven't had a decent vacation for a long time."

Nilingon ko ito. "Hmm...hindi ka pa rin mahilig mag-biyahe?"

Umiling ito. "I'm busy with work too. We have big projects currently and I want to focus on those."

I nodded. Medyo na-konsensya naman ako at ginugulo ko ang tahimik na mundo nito. "Sorry for bothering you this past few months. I hope it didn't affect your work that much."

"It's....fine. Don't think about it."

"Kung busy ka pala bakit mo ako inaya na mag-beach? Eh di sana nagtatrabaho ka ngayon."

"I thought we're both enjoying this?"

I slightly pouted. "Eh sabi mo busy ka."

"I'm here now, might as well enjoy it. It's more fun traveling with people who loves to travel. Like you. Lahat ng mga biyahe ko dati, dahil sa iyo."

I smiled. "We can still do that. You need to take a break once in a while. I think you're doing well in your job. Kaya nga kayo mag-eexpand di ba?"

"How did you know about that?"

"Oh...I'm just reading articles here and there. No biggie."

"You're right. Hiring the right people pays off eventually. As long as you give what they deserve, they'll stick with you. Ikaw, what are you doing now?"

I am happy that we're having a real conversation. A calm and genuine conversation.

"I'm waiting for my school to finish. Gusto ko magturo ng mga bata. I don't know. I love being around kids. That's why during the outreach before, I really enjoyed performing in front of the kids."

"Do you plan on...going back to Paris?"

I stirred my drink. "No. I'm staying in the Philippines for good. Muntik na akong sabunutan ni Agatha nang sabihin ko ang plano ko. Bakit daw ang dami kong pangarap sa buhay. Why go back here when I have finally earned my place there?"

"So why?"

"I always follow my heart, Miggy. And right now, this is where my heart wants me to be." I laughed to break the tension. "Agatha was supportive eventually. She's a really good friend."

"How is she?"

"Oh she's settled. She has a great career. A faithful and sweet husband. A cute and happy daughter. She got her life altogether. Sabi niya, I should just stay there. Maybe I will find someone eventually. Or move to where my parents are and settle there." I hugged my knees. "I feel envious of her sometimes. But things already happened and now I'm here. I'm trying to win you back as you know it already. Ako ang lumayo kaya ako rin ang babalik. I feel lucky enough that we're here together. Akala ko hindi na ito mangyayari."
