Elizabeth's pov:-
Aslan has just informed me that the time has come for the prophecy to be fulfilled. I had already realised it since my birthday was just a few days away. The only question on my mind is whether Mira will fight with us or against us.
While I am preparing to leave, Arathorn comes up to me. "I heard that you are going away." Word really spreads fast, it seems.
"Yes. Now that the time has come for the prophecy to be fulfilled, Aslan wants me to figure out where the gateway from the other world will appear."
"What is your plan then?"
"I will go to Mr. Tumnus and then I will start searching from there."
"But isn't that too close to where Jadis lives?"
I sigh. I already know this but Aslan thinks it best if I go there first. "Yes it is", I finally answer.
Arathorn just nods. When I finish getting ready I say my goodbyes to Arathorn, Oreius and Aslan.
The journey to Lantern West is a long one. Finally after journeying for 3 days I finally see the latern. I decide to take a rest behind some bushes. No one will be able to see me from the road if I stay here.
I had just sat down when I see the most peculiar thing. A girl, a human girl who doesn't look like she was older than 11. She has light brown hair. This amazed me the most. What if she is one of the Daughters of Eve mentioned in the prophecy? Just then a rustling sound across from her catches both of our attention.
Mr. Tumnus walks out. Seeing each other, they let both let out a shriek and the girl hides behind the lamp post while Mr. Tumnus hides behind a tree. The packages Mr. Tumnus was carrying fell all around the ground.
The girl finally gets enough courage to walk around the lamp post and starts picking up the packages.
Mr. Tumnus also comes out from behind the tree. At this moment the girl notices his legs. "Were you hiding from me?" the girl asked. I almost laughed out on hearing this.
"No", he muttered. "Uh well.... I just.... I", he continues to sutter. "No. No. I-I-I just, I was just, um.... I didn't want to scare you", Mr. Tumnus finally says.
The girl lets out a small giggle. "If you don't mind my asking-", she begins. "-what are you?"
"Well I'm a.... I'm a faun." Mr. Tumnus replies. "What about you? You must be some kind of beardless dwarf?"
"I'm not a dwarf, I'm a girl." She replies. At having my suspicions confirmed, I realise I have to keep a closer look on both of them. I wasn't sure whether Mr. Tumnus was entirely on Aslan's side.
While I was thinking all this I almost missed out what they were talking about.
"Well then, Lucy Pevensie from the shining city of War Drobe in the wondrous land of Spare Oom, how would it be if you came to have tea with me?" The faun asks the girl. So, the girl's name is Lucy Pevensie. Although I don't understand the terms War Drobe and Spare Oom, I decide I can understand the meaning of those words later. After a lot of hesitation, the girl finally agrees to go with Tumnus.
I decide to follow them to see whether he will call the witch or not. After they went inside I sit down outside to see when they will come out. After a long time, they finally come out in a hurry. They are running. More like the faun is running and the girl, Lucy is being dragged behind. I follow them at a safe distance and see that the girl is going the direction from which she came. At least Mr. Tumnus was really on Aslan's side. After the girl was gone I waited for an hour to make sure that it is safe and then went to Mr. Tumnus's door and knocked.
When he sees me he is overjoyed. He tells me to get inside quickly. Once inside I tell Mr. Tumnus what I saw. He tells me that the girl has three older siblings and that he belives they are the ones the prophecy is about.
I agree with him. Now all we have to do is wait until all four comes and then I have to take them to Aslan. Since it is already late we both agree to go to bed.
Two days later:-
After breakfast I tell Mr. Tumnus that I am going to take a walk and maybe talk with the Beavers as well.
While walking to the dam I decide to take a detour and go near the lamp post. When I get there I see a boy who looks to be around 13 years old. I cannot make out much about him. He is walking around and calling Lucy's name. I frown when I hear the jingling of bells. I want to go out and grab the boy but instead I decide to not stay there. If it really is Jadis as I fear then she cannot see me. It will get Mira in trouble.
I continue on my way to the beavers. Once there, I tell Mr. Beaver everything I saw and he decides to go there at once. I tell him to be careful. After two hours Mr. Beaver finally returns.
"By the time I got there it was to late. Miranda was already capturing Mr. Tumnus." At this words I don't know what to think. "He gave me a handkerchief while she was distracted."
Mr. Beaver shows me the handkerchief.
"It is the same one that the girl, Lucy gave to Mr. Tumnus.", I inform him."I will keep a closer watch on the house and wait for the Sons of Adam and Daughters of Eve to come." Mr. Beaver says.
"How are we certain that's where they will come?" Mrs. Beaver speaks up now.
"Since Lucy Pevensie will be with them and she knows Mr. Tumnus it is most likely they will go there." Mr. Beaver answers.
I think this through. "Let me come with you."
"No you are more important to Narnia than I am."
"We are all equally important", I answer.
I skipped 50 years. I will tell what happened during that time in conversations Eliza and Mira has with other characters in the future.
Let me know what you think. If you enjoyed the chapter then vote for it.
