Elizabeth's pov:-

After Mira left, I decide that it is not safe to stay here. "Once Maugrim realises that he has been sent the wrong way, he may come back here."

"How can we trust you after you told us that you are the Witch's daughter?" Not surprisingly Susan asks this.

But before I can answer Peter speaks up. "If she wanted to harm us she would have done it by now." I look at him and smile gratefully. He smiles back. Nobody says another word as we all walk to find another place. Peter falls into step with me at the back of the group.

"I will not be coming with you", the fox speaks up. "Aslan himself asked me to gather more troops for his army."

I nod at him in understanding. "Thank you, Jeff ", I tell him. I watch him go.

"You know him?" Peter asks me. I nod at him. "We were both together at Aslan's camp."

"What is he like?" Mrs. Beaver asks excitedly.

"Like everything we have ever heard", I answer smiling. They don't ask anything else.

We continue to walk in silence for a bit when I see a place we can stay the night. "Let us stop here." I call out to the group.

After another fire has been made, Lucy finally asks the question I have been dreading. "What did your sister mean by the part about secret passageway?"

"She meant she is going to run away from Jadis using a secret passageway. But she is not going to do it alone." I say without explaining everything.

"But what about the part about it leading to only one.... something?" Susan asks. I roll my eyes at this.

"It is quite simple to understand." Peter states this and I look at him wondering if he really understands it. After casting a glance at Lucy, he continues, "She meant the dungeons. Didn't she?" He says the last part looking at me.

I nod my head slowly. "Why don't we all get some sleep?" I say after giving them time to digest the information.

"Wait! Can you answer one last question?" Lucy asks.

"Go ahead", I tell her.

"Can you do magic like your sister?"

I smile at her a little. "No, she is the gifted one. I tried a lot to do magic but I couldn't." She nods at this and without any other questions all of them lay down to go to sleep.

After a while when I think that everyone is asleep, I sit up not being able to sleep.

"Having trouble falling asleep?" A voice asks next to me. I look over to see its Peter.

"Yes", I decide to be truthful with him. I don't know what but something about him makes me want to trust him completely.

"What is it?", he asks me taking my hand. "You can tell me anything." I look at him for a few moments before lying down this time closer to him. He puts his right arm around my waist while I put my left hand around his shoulder.

I sigh. "It's just meeting my sister again after 50 years just reminded me of the last time we met, the last time we talked. And the reunion I imagined did not have us acting so coldly to each other."

He waits for me to continue. When he sees that I am not going to continue, he asks me, "What happened?"

Miranda's pov:-

I return to the palace and go to the throne room. "So?", she asks without even looking up.

"The wolves tore the dam apart but they had used a secret passage to run away. When we finally got to the end of the passage a fox was there. When interrogated he said the humans along with the Beavers ran north. Maugrim and the rest of the wolves are going north as we speak."

After I finish, she just nods her head seemingly lost in her thoughts. After a moment she looks up. "Stay until the wolves return. If they turn up with the humans then we can end it all now. If not then we have to pay a visit to our guest."

I nod and sit down on the stairs. After an hour, Maugrim finally enters. "There was no trace of them north, your majesty." I look at my mother. I know what will happen now and I did not want it to. I would not be able to stop it from happening either if I want to escape with Edmund.

"Well then its time to pay our guest a visit." Mother says as she gets up from the throne. I follow her down to the dungeon. Edmund seems to be talking to the prisoner next to his. I realise with a jolt that it is Mr. Tumnus.

As soon as the doors are opened Mother goes to Edmund. "My police tore that dam apart." I notice as she approaches Edmund, he backs away from her. But his ankles are chained, so he cannot get very far. "Your little family is nowhere to be found." He seems to be confused at this.

Mother reaches a hand down and grabs him by the collar. She then rips him off the ground and holds him up, his feet dangling in the air. "Where did they go?" She asks Edmund.

"I don't know!" He begs. She drops Edmund on the ground. "Then you are of no further use to me." She states raising her wand.

"Wait!" He cries out as expected. "The Beavers said something about Aslan."

I almost stop breathing. Nobody ever says Aslan's name in front of her. I have no idea how she will react. She drops her hand. "Aslan?", she questions.

Edmund nod his head as if wanting her to believe him. "Where?" Of course my mother would ask this question.

"He's a stranger here your majesty." Mr. Tumnus speaks up. "H-He can't be expected to know anything." Mother looks at me and I, not wanting to but having no choice, slap Tumnus. "I said... where is Aslan?" Mother repeats turning back to Edmund.

Edmund looks over at Tumnus and answers, "I... I don't know," Edmund says before turning back to Mother. "I left before they could say anything."

Mother turns to the faun and sees his sigh of relief. "I wanted to see you!", Edmund cries out looking at me momentarily then looking back at Mother. She misses it, luckily, because she was looking at the faun at that moment.

I look at Edmund confused. Did he want to see me or Jadis? I think.

She looks at Edmund for a moment before crying out, "Guard!" A troll enters the dungeon. "Your majesty", the troll says. "Release the faun." I look at her not understanding what she is doing.

Once the faun is released he is thrown at Mother's feet. "Do you know why you're here faun?", she asks. Tumnus holds his chin high. "Because I believe in a free Narnia."

"You're here because he turned you in", she says pointing her wand at Edmund and giving a coy smile. "For sweeties."

Mr. Tumnus looks at Edmund, a look of betrayal clear on his face. Edmund looks guilty.

"Take him upstairs", Mother commands the troll. "Let us go upstairs as well. After all when we do return again our guest may not like it." She goes out of the room after giving Edmund a sweet smile.

Before following her I look over at Edmund. His eyes are asking a question. I smile at him a little understanding he is asking about his siblings. He heaves a sigh of relief as I hurry after my mother.
