Noctis End

Noctis was drenched in black yet he still stood out from the crowd. He sat besides Riku and Sora, yet there was an empty seat on his other side. You stared at him for only a short while before he took notice, giving you a small smile and urged you over with a jerk of his head. You complied and promptly sat down as you smoothed out your dress in the process.

"Looks nice." He said with a smirk and crossed arms. "Kairi got you huh?"

You giggled at his comment. "Of course she did. I couldn't do this by myself."

Noctis leaned back in his chair with his arms still crossed. He stared at you intently, long enough for you to open your mouth to question him. However he seemed to have caught on too as he quickly spoke before you could.

"Hey, after we eat I wanna talk."

You tilted a confused head to the side. "Of course, but is everything alright?"

He chuckled. "More than alright."

Before you could question him further a plate was placed in front of you by a waiter. You ate and still pondered his question, the look on your face simply confounded. He seemed as if he wasn't worried as he chowed down and socialized with Riku throughout dinner, ensuring to involve you as well. Once dinner was finished Noctis took no time to urge you to follow him.

Your heart pounded as he took your hand with a delicate touch. What was so important that he had to take you elsewhere? He guided you through double doors leading outside, one of the many ponds waiting for you. You took a deep breath as you breathed in the fresh air along with feeling the cool droplets of water from the fountain in the middle of the pond being blown by the wind. Noctis took you close by, standing only a few feet away from the edge. The sunlight glistened on top of the water.

"If you feel any sort of weird during this then stop me." Noctis ordered as the grip on your hand tightened.

"Noct you're making me nervous."

"Once you hear what I have to say then only one of us should be nervous." He chuckled to himself before he continued. "First, I owe you an apology."

"Huh? For what?"

Noctis frowned. "I am sorry I didn't ask sooner. I know the transition from foster to adoption was a lot for you, and I didn't want to overwhelm you with anything else. So I took a step back."

You shook your head. "It was a lot sure but I'm good now."

Noctis leaned forward slightly and you felt him take both of your hands now inside his own. "The two of us have been through so much together, it was us versus the world. I had so much fun spending time with you when we were fostered together, but I don't think you understand how hard it was to hold back at that time."

"Hold back what?"

He wasn't making any sense.

Noctis scoffed and shook his head. He paused for a moment as you stared with utter ignorance to what was happening. You gasped with surprise when he suddenly grabbed you, forcing you against his body as he embraced you into a hug.

"Before I knew it I had fallen in love with you. I've been wanting to tell you for so long, but I knew with everything going on you had enough on your plate. Now, I'm confessing my long hidden feelings in hopes you'll accept them."

With a gentle push you pushed him away enough so you could look him in the eye. With a loving touch you brushed some hair from his face and warmly smiled.

"Noct you have no idea how long I've been waiting for the day you'd tell me this."

His face brightened instantly. "Really?"

With a vigorous nod you caressed his cheek. "I was pretty bummed you never asked me to prom."

"Then if it's not too late do you want to be my date?"

"What if I was just your girlfriend?"

"Why not both?"

The two of you laughed together but was interrupted by making eye contact. No words were spoken between you, yet your eye contact was enough to make it clear what was to happen next. Noctis' grip on you only tightened as you felt yourself gravitate towards him as if some unknown force brought you closer to him. Before you knew it, your lips had pressed against his as you embraced the blissful kiss. The moment was utter beauty, one you cherished instantly as you felt his warmth against your body.

If only you could stay like this forever.

He released the kiss after a few moments, pressing his forehead against yours and stared lovingly into your eyes.

"Thank you for this moment, {Y/N}. I love you."
