You had slept very soundly that night as Noctis heated your preferred stuffed animal up for you. The mixture between the warmth and scent soothed your worries for a while, long enough to help you fall fast asleep. You woke up the next morning feeling refreshed and ready to tackle your online assignments for the day. Your little stuffed animal buddy joined you, promptly sitting on your desk as you booted up your laptop. While waiting for it to load your attention turned to your jar of pills, in which you reached in and grabbed one with the idea to start your day off right.

"I am not defined by my past; I am driven to my future."

With a smile you rolled up the paper and had placed it back into the jar before logging into your school stuff, getting right to work on what was posted for you for the day. You would take a few moments after each question answered to take a peek outside as it had begun snowing once again. You were excited to possibly take a brisk walk in the park tonight; maybe even drag Noctis out to stargaze later that evening if he was willing... And if the snow had stopped. You couldn't gaze at any stars if it was cloudy.

At the end of the school day Noctis was peeking in your room where you were using your desk chair to sit in front of the window with an elbow propped on the sill, and your chin resting in the palm of your hand. When he gathered your attention, you spun around and slammed your hands on your knees, grinning ear to ear.

"Do you think it's gonna be cloudy tonight?" You asked him.

He hesitated for a moment before answering. "It's supposed to snow for the rest of the night."

You frowned and resumed your original position with your eyes gazing out the window. "I wanted to star gaze tonight." You admitted quietly.

Noctis chuckled and approached you, kneeling down to join your line of sight. "Maybe we'll check it out anyway and find out what we can see."

Your eyes lit up. "That would be great."

He ruffled your hair. "First dinner. Then we'll dress warm and head out."

You beamed and watched him leave before turning your attention back out the window once more. You and Noctis went star gazing often enough the last few months, and it was always a fun time for you. He was slowly learning the constellations you taught him, and he even seemed to be researching on his own as he showed off his new found knowledge to you once in a while. Knowing that made your heart happy as he was taking time just for you. You thought about inviting other people, but decided to keep this tradition to just the two of you as you grew more and more comfortable letting loose and simply being silly with your friend.

When the time had finally come you threw on comfortable and warm clothes, including that black scarf Noctis tended to put around your neck almost every time you went out. On the walk to the park you finally built up the courage to ask him about it.

Noctis patted the top of your head when you mentioned it. "That scarf happens to be one of the first things Cloud and Tifa gave me when they fostered me. So I keep it around."

You looked down at it with surprise. "That's nice of you to share it with me."

The two of you approached your usual bench and promptly sat down. "Think of it as like a welcome to the house gift. I know we haven't gotten most of your stuff from the old house yet, so I just want to make sure you have what you need."

You snuggled into the scarf. "That's okay, all that junk can stay there. I'd rather have something new."

Noctis reached over to grab your hand and gave it a tight squeeze before releasing. He looked upwards at the sky in an attempt to view the stars in the night sky. When you joined him you frowned as the snow was still falling, therefore the clouds had covered up the view. Your eyes softened however when instead of looking at the stars you watched the gentle flakes fall which was just as calming to watch. You and Noctis sat there in silence for a few moments, enjoying the sight before you. The park was quiet, giving you a calm sense of serenity. The snow had muted any other sounds around you to the point where you could only hear your shuddering breath from the cold. Noctis noticed too, as you heard a quiet chuckle coming from him.
