Chapter 18

You were content for that one night. The next morning everyone was out and about doing their own thing while Tifa stayed home with you as she didn't start her first shift until later that evening. You lingered in your room, leaving the usual blanket over your head as you had shoved yourself into the corner of the bed and scrolled through your phone. You had been texting your friends all day, seemingly distracting them from school as you had been receiving messages back and forth without fail. Especially the girls kept taking silly pictures of themselves from under their desks to send to the group chat, while the boys (except Axel of course) just typed.

This was also a great distraction, as you kept a smile for a good length of time. They kept you updated on what was going on at school. They told you Seifer was no where to be found, and Fuu was asking about you. Allegedly she wanted to apologize to you, but as you weren't in school since the party she hadn't had the opportunity. None of your friends gave her your number, and you didn't want her to have it. You didn't blame Fuu for what happened at the party, but you also didn't want to risk it again. It was best to keep a distance. Larxene was also lingering around, you hadn't really dealt with her since Vanitas pummeled her. Since that day she backed off, however and at least left your group alone.

You giggled at yet another silly picture from Xion, as you had gym with several of your friends at the end of the day. Xion, Kairi, Namine, Vanitas, and Axel. Xion had taken a selfie with the girls, Vanitas and Axel in the background. Axel was resting his arm on Vanitas' head, where Vanitas was flipping off the camera and had an annoyed look on his face. You saved the image to your phone as a light knock was heard at your door. You perked your head up as Tifa poked her head inside.

"Hey! Are you hungry?" When you shook your head she pouted. "Well that's too damn bad. You're eating. Be right back!"

You rolled your eyes but kept that same smile, turning your attention back to your phone.

"Almost done! Can't wait to come home!" -Xion

You texted back, "Tifa is making food."

"Oooo free food? Sign me up!" -Axel

"Dude if you wanna come over just ask." -Noctis

"Wait can we all just stop by? Kinda miss {Y/N}." -Sora

"Idk ask her." -Noctis

You hesitated, your fingers lingering over the keyboard. Texting was fun, however you weren't sure if you were ready for multiple guests. Then again, maybe it was a good idea as you would have even more distractions to keep yourself occupied and your flashbacks at bay.

"I don't mind seeing everyone." You replied back.

"Hell yeah!" -Axel

"Let's just have a relaxing night. Nothing crazy. I'll bring nail polish! Let's do some self care!" -Kairi

"Can you bring face masks? I loved how my face feels afterwards." -Axel

"Bruh wtf?" -Roxas

You giggled to yourself, locking your phone and placing it on your nightstand. If people were coming over, maybe it was time you changed out of pajamas. You slipped into something casual but comfortable as you didn't plan on leaving the house still. You fixed your hair, making it look decent as you've had a blanket over your head for a few days now. This was great. Your friends were great. The more they pushed to talk to you the less time you had to think about the past events. At least for a while you could pretend they never happened, and pretend to be a normal girl for once. You grabbed your phone and made your way downstairs, smelling the aroma of something yummy being cooked up.
