PART NINETEEN

"Hailey, do you want to sleep in my tent tonight?" Glenn asked but before Hailey could answer Rick had walked up to them. 

"She can't get in her own tent?" He asked raised eyebrows. 

"What do you want heart breaker?" Glenn asked glaring at Rick. 

"To speak to my best friend alone," 

Glenn rolled his eyes before kissing Hailey on the forehead as he grabbed onto her hands. 

"My tent is third one down, in case you decide to come in," he said with a smile before leaving. 

"What you did out there was stupid Hailey,"

"Why aren't you with your WIFE?" She asked bitterly. 

"Because I want to talk to you, look I know we did somethings when it was just us but..... I have Lori back and Carl I really cant abandon my family"

"I thought you wanted us to be together?" 

"I do.... Trust me Hailey I do so bad. but I just reunited with my family after being away with them for so long," 

"Maybe you shouldn't have stayed with me the entire time then Rick, maybe you should have left when you had the chance,"

"Dont do that..... Hailey I dont regret staying with you, your my best friend,"

"Is that all I am to you?" She whispered causing Rick to sigh. 

"Your much more than that Hailey, you are my world, and my light and I need you just like you need me, I love you so much," He said placing his hands on her head as his forehead rested against hers. 

"Then be with me," she said as lips were dangerously close together. 

"Now isn't the time.... I realized that, I need to be with my family,"

"Okay," she said moving away from Rick. "Its fine at least I'm still your best friend," she said with a fake smile causing him to sigh.

"Hails-" 

"Enjoy being with Lori okay Rick? Goodnight," she said walking away from him as she was running towards Glenn's tent with tears in her eyes, making her visioN blurry so she didn't see when she bumped into someone. 

And that someone happens to be Shane Walsh. 

"I saw you and Rick over there..... Listen Rick is my best friend and hes happy with Lori, I need you to back off from him, you got your Asian boy after all, Rick doesn't need scum like you,"

"Scum?" she whispered wiping her tears away. 

"Yes, realize you've been after a man who is married, confusing his feelings for his wife, he doesn't need you in his life you just screw everything up,"

"Like how you did with Lori, Shane?" She hissed back at him. "Yeah not so talkative now aren't you, you say I'm a homewrecker, you say I'm the scumbag but Shane honey can you look at yourself before pointing fingers at somebody else? I should tell Rick but its not my place to do so, if he wants to be with Whori than let him, wont change a damn thing, in the end were both getting our heart broken by the people we love the most, so do not come after me with your bullshit," She said jabbing a finger against his chest before walking away unaware that Rick was a distance away and heard the entire conversation. 

Hailey made it to Glenn's tent as she zipped it open to find him shirtless and staring up at the ceiling. Hailey blushed as Glenn sat up when he saw her. 

"Hailey," 

"Hey G, I see you still sleep without a shirt,"

"And I see you still get flustered over it," he chuckled causing her to smile as she went to lay down next to him. "Come here," he said opening his arms as Hailey laid on his bare chest her arms wrapped around his mid section as his head rested upon hers.
