YOU (RICK GRIMES)

PART THIRTY TWO

Hailey was back in the RV with Jim who was burning up with a fever. She was humming a soft tune while trying to break the fever by placing a cold towel on  his head. 

"You have a nice voice," he begins with a smile as Hailey smiled back. 

"Thank you, you know before all this went down I've always wanted to be a singer, maybe one day be on Britain's got talent," She chuckled causing him to grin before coughing. 

"I believe you could've mad it, man imagine if I saw you on TV and years later we actually meet," 

She laughed just as the door opened to reveal her boyfriend and Carol.  Hailey sighed. 

"His fever is worse, I'm trying my best to break it but its not working," she announceed as Rick wrapped her arms around her from behind. 

"Jim do you need anything?" Carol asked sweetly just as Jim started coughing again. 

"Uh... Water. Could use more water," he said causing her to nod. 

"I'll go get some, Hailey would you mind helping an old lady like me?" She asked causing her to laugh.

"Of course Carol," She grins before giving Rick a kiss goodbye. "I love you," She tells him pullinga way causing him to smile. 

"I love you too, always," he announces kissing her head before releasing her as she left the RV with Carol. 

"You make him happy," Carol points out with a smile causing Hailey to as well. 

"I know, I cant believe it took this long for us to finally be together,"

"And what about Glenn? He's your ex boyfriend right?" She asked causing her to frown. 

"That's right.... Glenn hes...... He's having a hard time, I do feel bad because he still has feelings for me, hes a great guy and he will always be in my heart but-"

"You love Rick, I get that plus hes been your best friend since forever whats not to love about him?" She asked smiling causing Hailey to smile herself. "The heart wants what it wants you can't change that,"

"Thank you Carol your such a sweet lady,"

"Well thank you," She chuckles just as the ladies look up to see Shane standing in front of them with hands on his hips looking at Hailey. 

"I'll go get the water, hes looking at you," she said before patting her on the back before leaving. 

"I need you to help talk some sense into Rick. Look, this C.D.C. thing, Hailey, it's a mistake. So you're backing him?"

"He's my God damn boyfriend Shane, of course I support him, I've been supporting him as long as I can remember, I'm not sure about you though," She snapped about to walk away, but Shane gripped her on the wrist hard. 

"LET GO OF ME!" Hailey shouted trying to get out of his grip as his eyes hardened. 

"Look, it may be time for you to play the dutiful girlfriend, but you can't tell me that  your relationship is worth putting people's lives at risk," Shane said gripping harder onto her wrist. 

"Shane! Your hurting me!" 

"Hey!" The sound of Glenn's voice was heard as he was in the mist of walking around when he heard the commotion. 

The distraction caused Hailey to rip her wrist away from Shane's grip as she craddled it in her hand a bruise already forming. 

"What the hell are you doing?" Glenn asked glaring at Shane.
