YOU (RICK GRIMES)

PART THIRTY

Hailey was crying on her way back to the group, she knew she lost Glenn the moment her and Rick got together. Glenn was never going to look at her the same way ever again and she honestly hated it. 

"Hailey," Daryl mumbled walking up to her. "You okay?" He asked sounding genuinely concerned for her. 

Hailey nodded before wiping her tears away with the back of her hands. 

"Yeah.... Thanks for asking Daryl,"

"Listen, I'm not good with this stuff but Glenn is hurting..... He thinks hurting you will make it easier for him to get over you its just a phase, he'll come around,"

Hailey nodded a small smile forming. 

"Thanks for that Daryl, didn't know you cared," she teased causing him to chuckle. 

"I don't trust me, but I hate to see a woman cry so there's that,"

"So different from Merle I dont know how yall are related," Hailey laughed shaking her head causing Daryl to lightly do the same. 

He was starting to see why the two men always fought over her. She was such a joy in life. 

"I wonder that too, come on we got work to do, it'll take your mind off of things," He said causing Hailey to nod as the two went back to camp. 

They found a body on the ground that used to be one of our people, Hailey grabbed the top half while Daryl grabbed the bottom half. Hailey and Daryl drag the body of the dead camper towards the fire. 

"Alright get ready to toss him in," Daryl said however Glenn cut both of them off. 

"What are you guys doing? This is for geeks. Our people go over there," He said upset pointing to the left. 

"What's the difference G? They're all infected," Hailey said angering Glenn further that she acted this way.

"Our people go in that row over there. We don't burn them! We bury them. Understand? Hailey do you understand? Our people go in that row over there!" Glenn practically yelled at her tears forming in his eyes. 

"Hey, Hailey I got this don't worry about it," Morales announced jogging up to her place his hand on her shoulders. "I think Glenn needs you," he whispered just as Glenn walked away.  

She sighed before nodding her head handing the body over to Morales and following Glenn instead. 

"G, Hey G Stop," Hailey said causing him to stop but he didn't turn around. 

"I thought I told you to stay away from me, I don't need you," He said turning to finally face her as Hailey could see tears running down Glenn's face. 

"You don't mean that Glenn, I'm sorry that Rick and I's relationship is causing you so much pain," 

"Why? Why does it hurt so much?" He finally breaks down moving towards Hailey as he wrapped his arms around her hugging her as she hugged him back. 

She had tears in her own eyes it broke her heart hearing him cry over everything. 

"I love you Hailey, I dont know how to stop," He whispered causing her to hold onto him tighter. 

"I'm so sorry G, I love you more than you know, but I also love Rick too it wouldn't be fair to you if I had the both of you,"

Glenn finally stopped crying after a bit and lifted his head from his shoulder. 

"Thank you.... Thank you for being there for me Hailey, I know you'll never love me the way I love you but I will get over it.... it just takes time and I really do need that space and time we talked about just in a nicer way than before,"
