YOU (RICK GRIMES)

PART TEN

"Hailey and Rick I need you two to listen to me as carefully as possible," Glenn said overlooking the tank as a bunch of walkers were trying to get to them. 

And the one person he still cares most about. He couldn't let her get hurt especially since they are about to reunite, he has been dreaming of this day since she called it off.

"Glenn you still there?" Hailey asked over the radio causing him to get out of his daze about her. 

"Yeah babe.... I mean Hailey, here's what I want yall to do I need you both to make a run for it,"

"Make a run for it? Are you stupid?" Rick asked as he snatched the radio from Hailey causing her to pout.

"Actually Glenn is a really smart-" She began but stopped as Rick sent her a glare that meant Shut up. 

He only does that when he's upset with her.

"My way's not as dumb as it sounds. You've got eyes on the outside here. There's one geek still up on the tank but the others have climbed down and joined the feeding frenzy where the horse went down. With me so far? And Hailey, thanks for the compliment by the way," Glenn says as he smirked even though she couldn't see it but she could hear it in his voice, causing her to blush.

"Yes, so far we are with you," Rick said in an annoyed tone. 

"Whats with the tone of voice? I don't have to help you but since it involves Hailey and I want nothing more but her safety then I have to help you with her otherwise she'd never forgive me,"

"Thats right G," she responded with a smile causing Glenn to smile as well. 

It was a nickname she had given him when they started dating. And he honestly missed it when she called him G. Nobody else would ever do so, it was always just Glenn even though that is his name, he found the name G a lot more cooler than just Glenn.

"Okay, the street on the other side of the tank is less crowded. If you move now while they're distracted, you stand a chance. Got ammo?" He asked causing Hailey to grab the radio so she can talk to Glenn. 

"We both dropped our duffel bags when we fell off the horse, its far from our reach and it has my axe in it, can we get it G?" 

"Forget the bag, okay Hail? It's not an option. What do you have on you?"

"The Axe was my only weapon G, I dont have anything else,"

"Shit, your going to need a weapon Hail, I dont want you going out there unarmed," He said genuinely concerned about her. 

"What about your friend?" He asks as Hailey looked over at Rick, he seemed lost in space with his eyebrows furrowed together and his lips in a thin line. 

He has determined he cannot stand this Glenn character, just the way the two interacts  he could tell they both still care about each other. He doesn't want to be replaced. 

"Rick?" Hailey asked bringing him out of his thought. 

"Sorry, you were saying?"

"Were asking if you got any weapons to protect Hails with dumbass,"

"Oh. Yeah. Yeah. I've got a Beretta with one clip, 15 rounds,"

"Make 'em count. Jump off the right side of the tank, keep going in that direction. There's an alley up the street, maybe 50 yards. Be there. And stranger, keep Hailey safe do not let her out of your sight even for a moment,"

"I always keep her safe no need to worry about that,"

Rick makes his break after grabbing a metal shard in the tank and hands it to Hailey. She opens the top and whacks the Walker on the tank with the metal shard, slicing its face wide open.

"That was so cool," she breathes out as they run down the street, Rick was firing at any Walker in his way, while Hailey was killing them with the metal shard having a total of 8 of them together. They come across Glenn who was waiting for them, Hailey dropped the metal shard and ran faster as Rick was trying to tell her to slow down, but she didnt listen as she jumped into Glenn's arms causing him to smile and return the hug as he spinned her around. 

Once that was over he kissed her on the forehead and wrapped an arm around her. 

"Come on lets go!" Glenn yelled out grabbing Hailey's hand as The three proceed to run down the alley and start climbing up a ladder with Glenn putting Hailey up first so he would knew she would be safe. 

"What are you doing? come on!" Glenn yells noticing her friend is not following them. 

"I dont like you," Rick bluntly says placing his hands on his hips. 

Glenn rolled his eyes.

"Just come on! Don't disappoint Hailey," he said as Rick starts climbing up the ladder after Glenn. 

When he got up on the last step he saw Glenn hugging Hailey again and it was starting to really piss him off and he wanted to say something, anything, but what can he say? They used to be lovers. 

"Glenn whats with the gesture?" Hailey asked giggling with a smile on her face as she hugged him back. 

"Im just glad your safe, and your in my arms again, I have been dreaming of this day where I get to be with you again,"

"G-"

"I know Hailey, I know ," he said grabbing her cheeks with his hands as he kissed her forehead causing her to close her eyes. "I will wait for you, no matter how long it takes, just being near you and knowing you are alive is enough for me," he said placing his forehead back on hers while pushing some hair back behind her ear. 

A throat being cleared was heard as the two broke away from each other to look over at Rick. He was trying to conceal it, but Hailey knew Rick was annoyed, pissed, upset, wanting to lash out. He has that look on his face but yet he said nothing, just looked between Glenn and his best friend Hailey. 

"So, Hailey tells me you two used to be a thing?"

"Yes, she means the world to me, my first love," He said smiling while looking at Hailey with soft eyes. 

"Well I'm going to need you to back off if you want this to work."

"Why would I do that? she is just your FRIEND isn't she?"

"Boys lets not fight over me okay?" Hailey sighs pushing Glenn back.

"right come on lets meet new people," Glenn says smiling at Hailey grabbing her hand in his again. 

Glenn takes another ladder and goes down, following by Hailey then Rick. It leads to the building as Glenn takes out a walkie talkie. 

"I'm back. Got a guest and someone special plus four geeks in the alley,"

"So now she's someone special now huh?" Rick asks as Hailey looks over at him. 

"Ri, jealousy doesn't look good on you,"

"I'M NOT JEALOUS!" He snapped causing Glenn to turn his head towards him. 

"Who the hell are you yelling at?" He asked getting defensive. 

"Just shut up Asian boy,"

"RICK! That's enough! Glenn I promise he's not like that I just didn't tell him about you and he's getting all pissy over it,"

Glenn ignored her as the three go down another staircase to a door where two Walkers appear. Two men, Morales and T-Dog, come out with protective gear and baseball bats. They each go after one of the Walkers and bash their brains in.

"LET'S GO!" Glenn yelled taking ahold of Hailey's hand as she watched with fascination before Glenn tugged her hand as they made their way inside the store.
