YOU (RICK GRIMES)

PART TWENTY

"Are you sure?" Rick asked hands on his hips looking Hailey deep in her clear blue eyes.

She nodded her head.

"If you don't believe me ask G, he'll vouch for you,"

"Speaking of... Umm.... I saw him shirtless and you-"

Hailey cut him off by chuckling.

"If your worried about us having sex don't we didn't. Glenn is nice he uhh.... Stopped me told me I wasn't clear on my feelings for you and that he wanted me passionately,"

Rick only stepped closer to Hailey, not caring who was around as he grabbed her arms and looked deep into her eyes.

"I don't want him with you, I dont even want the thought of you two making love to each other, You belong to me as I do You,"

"But last night you said-"

"I didn't know Lori was in a relationship with my best friend, now that I know that I can officially leave her when the time is right,"

"How long will that take Rick? How long will you keep me waiting for you?"

"Once I confront Lori about it I will come straight to you,"

"That doesn't answer my question Rick, how long will it take?"

He looked down unable to meet Hailey's gaze. 

"It could be awhile Hailey, I cant just get out of one relationship and jump into another,"

"You were willing to before, whats changed?"

"I found Lori,"

Hailey couldn't help but shake her head disgusted by his actions. He knows the truth and still wants to stay with Whori. Maybe she should get with Glenn..... Maybe it wasn't meant for her and Rick  to be together. Sure they kissed a few times, but that didn't mean anything..... Did it?

"Your thinking, talk to me Hails,"

"I hope you enjoy Lori Rick, I really do but I dont want to become second place,"

"Hailey-"

"Goodbye Rick," she said placing a hand on his shoulder before walking away from him. 

"Hailey! HAILEY!" Rick called but didn't bother going after her as a sigh escaped his lips. 

He really needed to think things through and really needed to sit down and think who's heart he really wants. 

LATER 

The group was in a circle wondering who was going to tell this Daryl character about his brother Merle.. Hailey was next to Glenn holding his hand as Dale spoke. 

"Have you given any thought to Daryl Dixon? He won't be happy to hear his brother was left behind," Dale was the first to speak.

"I'll tell him. I dropped the key. It's on me," T-Dog volunteered as Hailey shook her head. 

"I cuffed him. That makes it mine. In my defense he did hurt T-Dog and Hailey, I wasn't going to let him get away with that," Rick pointed out as Hailey rolled her eyes. 

"Guys, it's not a competition. I don't mean to bring race into this, but it might sound better coming from a white girl such as myself, no offense T-Dog and Rick," Hailey said putting her hands up as T-Dog smiled. 

"None taken Ms. Baxter," 

"Hailey is fine,"

"Why do you get to tell Dixon?" Dale asked raised eyes.
