"Auntie Mer! Auntie Mer!" Meredith heard her little niece Elisa yelling

"Hey, easy munchkin." Meredith chuckles

It's been about 10 years since she broke the screws in her hip. She's been having ups and downs in the past year but regardless she us very happy now

Mark and Addison have a six year old daughter now and another on the way. They still share a house with Meredith, a much larger house to provide everyone the comfort they need

"Let's go make you some pancakes." Meredith tells the little girl and wheels her wheelchair to the kitchen. She's wearing her braces as well, in case she'll walk around but her own kitchen is adapted and is even easier to use from a sitting position.

Meredith grabs the tools she needs, so happy with the adapted stuff around the house

"Elisa?!" They both hear Mark call out

"She's with me!" Meredith yells back

Mark runs in a few minutes later. "Morning Mer. Well munchkin, you came to find your auntie, heh?" Mark smirks

"Making chocolate chip pancakes for her." Meredith tells him, glad she only had to heat some up instead of baking them

"Of course, you know who makes the best food, heh?" He chuckles as his daughter was so much like Meredith, food wise.

"Yep!" Elisa giggled

"Okay munchkin, come get your plate." Meredith smiled as the food was ready

...

"Mer? I'm here!" Derek yelled as he entered Meredith's part of the house.

"Bedroom!" Meredith yells back. Meanwhile Meredith put on an extra cardigan and wheels out to the living room, seeing Derek take off his jacket

"Hey! How are you?" He smiles, attempting to hug her. And yes, Meredith agreed on a hug as her pain was bearable today.

"Let's get on the couch." She locks her brakes and gets up to transfer

"How are you feeling today?" Derek grabs a pillow and places it on his shoulder so Meredith could lay down.

"Meh..not too bad." She shrugs and lays her head down. "What about you? You've been busy lately."

"Yeah I've had some great neuro cases. Everything's been going great, I'm the head of neuro now." Derek smiles

"I'm really proud of you, Der." Meredith smiles

"Can I hug you?" He carefully asks and does so after a reassuring nod. "I love you, Mer." He whispers

"I love you too." Meredith nods, grateful for her family

"Wanna play some video games?" Derek asks her with a big smile

"Duhn!" Meredith laughs. She played many hours, mainly because it was one of the only things she could do from her spot on the couch

"Now be a little gentle for me, I've been working a lot lately and you've had time to train." Derek jokes

"Na-ah. I didn't play much either, now that I'm working with Addie on that trial." Meredith explains

"Oh right! How's it been going?" He asks as they set up a game

"It's been very great. Addie is slowing down a vit because of her pregnancy so I'm taking a bit more responsibility and so far I've been doing great. Mom's been over a few times, same for dad. They're a bit bored I think since they retired." She chuckles

"They've been spending some time at the guest cabin at my land, dad and I enjoyed the fishing but mom kept going on about how far it is." Derek chuckles

"Once Addie is back to working full time I wanna stay over again, I really miss the view. I miss being able to watch the view from the cliff." She smiles

"It's my favorite thing to do, just sit outside at night and watch the lights of the city. You have a picture of the view in your room, right?" He asks

"Yeah but it's not the same. I can't wait to return. We actually should all go again, Elisa loves to run around and play. You, Markie and dad at the grill and the woman just chatting while trying to keep ourselves warm." Meredith laughs

"Sounds just wonderful, I think we could all use it, that's for sure." Derek nods and they start playing

....

"We're home!" They got distracted by Mark and Addison

"Uncle Derek! Auntie Mer!" Eliza ran in fist. "You're playing without me!" The girl gasps

"Come here, take my place." Meredith smiles and pats the spot next to her

"I'm gonna win!" Eliza laughs ald starts playing

"Dang, you two played all afternoon?" Addison chuckles and takes a seat on the spare couch, rubbing her stomach

"Yep." Meredith giggles

"Well great. What about when I make some dinner and one of you calls mom and dad to ask them over?" Mark suggests

"Just perfect." Meredith smiles, really grateful for her family that helped and will continue helping her through her battle with her illnesses
