"Hey. I'm Killua."
About 400 people had arrived so far. You noticed a few more arrive, a spiky-haired, suit-wearing man, a green-haired, fishing rod wielding boy, and a blonde in a tunic. A while later, the sign-up deadline had ended. The wall began to rise open. "Hello, I'm Satotz. Please, follow me to your second phase." he said. A few people seemed confused. One asked, "Huh? Second phase? What about the first one?" Satotz looked at them, "It has already begun."

"...12 too." you heard Killua say, "What's your name?" The green-haired boy smiled and said, "I'm Gon!" Killua jumped off of his skateboard. "Nice. I'm Killua..." he said. "Hey, I'm Y/N." you said, waving. The trio ran together, chatting the time away. The man you know knew as Leorio had fallen behind. Gon stopped. "Hey, Gon. Just forget about him." Killua called. "Damn... I can't... fail!" Leorio muttered. He then removed his shirt and ran much faster. "That's not a bad idea." Kurapika said. He removed his tunic, leaving only a white underclothing, placing it in his bag. He too, ran faster. Many people were slowly eliminated, and we reached a staircase. "Hey, last one up the stairs has to buy the other two dinner!" Killua yelled. "Ha, bet?" you smirked. "3.. 2.. 1... GO!" Gon counted. You flew up the stairs at an insane speed, taking only a second or two to make it. A couple seconds later, Satotz made it with the other two behind him. "Huaah?! How did you make it so fast Y/N-chan!?" Gon yelled in shock. You shrugged. "I'll beat you eventually!" Killua called. "Satotz-san, is this where the second phase takes place?" Gon asked. "No, we still have a ways to go." Satotz informed him.
Time ran out and the door shut. "N- NO! Wa-" a man begged. You scoffed. A strange man ran towards us. "Don't trust him! He's a.." he said, and dragged out a creature that resembled Satotz, "A man faced ape!" Panic fell across the group. As you suspected, and out of seemingly nowhere, cards flew towards the two men. Satotz caught them with ease. On the other hand, the man had been cut into. Satotz, frowning, warned him that it would go unpunished this time, however it would not if attempted again. We started to go through the swamp. As the fog thickened, you lost sight of Killua and Gon.
You felt a cold, sharp metal placed against your throat, pulling you away from the group. You looked around to see that the man threatening you had friends, and they were targeting Hisoka. you sliced his leg with a white petal just enough to draw blood, and summoned a maroon petal, retrieving the pink. It took a while to affect him, and he threatened to kill you if Hisoka returned next year. Suddenly, his eyes widened as he began to choke, and within moments, he was on his hands and knees, begging for mercy. The petal had multiplied and was forcing it's way out through even small openings, from the mouth to even the nail bed. You scowled in disgust and retrieved the main petal, causing all others to disappear. "Bastard. Using me as a hostage. I should have just left it there, you deserve it." you spat, bloodlust seeping from your words. "Oh~ Y/N! I love it when you get excited... that look.. that-" Hisoka moaned. "Shut up, Hiso-nii. I don't care, and you should be focusing on your little examiner game. I won't hesitate to kill you right now."
You ran to catch up with the rest, and they were preparing to end the phase. Hisoka suddenly arrived with Leorio on his back. You looked out far and squinted. "Gon!" you yelled. He was approaching along with the blonde, of who's name you still did not know. "Y/N! Killua!" he called. The quintet chatted for a while, until the second phase was to begin. You turned to look at the two examiners. "Hi, I'm Menchi!" the woman said, "And this is Buhara!" Buhara's stomach rumbled. "We're very hungry. So for your second phase, you will be: Cooking!" Menchi added. The exam erupted with laughter. "Cooking?!" one yelled. "Yep, cooking! Because we're Gourmet Hunters!" Menchi yelled back. I shut my eyes until I felt a presence behind me. Spinning around, I whisper-yelled, "Hisoka! What are you-" He leaned up to my hear, whispering, "I'm going to Heavens Arena after the exam. Just informing you, I know you want to kill me.. mm." The examiner duo informed the group you would be using pork as your main ingredient. Killua and Gon quickly found that the weak spot was on their head. You hated to admit it, but Hisoka was right. They had great potential. You threw a unhued petal directly into a pigs head, knocking it down. You threw it over your shoulder.
The group all returned and began to cook the pigs. You had decided to make fd/wp (favorite dish with pork) You weren't much of a cook, as you spent over 100 hours a week working on your Nen, and 31 of those hours with Feitan and/or the troupe. The dish was fairly simple, but not enough to impress Menchi. You sighed and nodded when she told you your faults.
There was not a single passing examinee. "This is an outrage!" somebody yelled. Figures. That's what they get for making fun of the examiners. When with Chrollo or Feitan, you never dared disrespect them, for not wanting to die or in Chrollo's case, you respected him too much. And not annoying Feitan was really hard. Unsurprisingly, this was not fair enough for the chairman as he arrived to talk to Menchi. You looked away in disgust as he eyed at her cleavage.
"Chairman, could you drop us off at Split-in-Half Mountain?"
We arrived on a mountain with a ravine down the center, and Menchi demonstrated how to complete the phase. She jumped into the ravine, grabbing a spider egg, and being blown back out. "Looks fun." Killua said. He jumped, and Gon, Leorio and blonde boy followed. You smiled and shook your head, jumping off and grabbing a string. You shut your eyes and focused, the web giving out. "Now!" Gon yelled. Everyone jumped and grabbed an egg, the wind blowing them back up. You ate the egg you had caught after boiling it. It was fantastic.
