Meeting x Up x With x Friends ~ Chapter 3.2

a/n: lettin y'all know in advance this chapter gon be kurapika and  melody centered, dw you'll see killua again soon/eventually, i havent decided how evil i'll be yet.

"Y/N?"

"Kurapika." you felt like you could cry, the events of the day returning to you, "You were right about the spiders. I'll tell you everything you need to know, just come get me at XXXXXX."

He couldn't believe how weak you sounded, your usual confidence and arrogance faltering. And surprisingly enough, you were weak. After using that ability, you were in a state of Zetsu for 13 days. "I..I'm on my way. Don't worry." he said, attempting to comfort you but remaining uncertain. A car pulled up, and a grey-haired woman got out of the passenger side. "Are you Y/N?" she asked. You nodded. "And you aren't going to hurt us or use anything against us?" You nodded again.

She turned and nodded towards the car, Kurapika practically jumping out. He ran and pulled you into a hug as if he were your own family. No, wait. As if he were what your family SHOULD have been. And you wish he was. You hugged back, making every effort you could to ignore what had occured. "Uvo escaped?" you asked. "Yeah." he said, his eyes briefly turning scarlet. "Hey, why do your eyes turn scarlet?" 

"When the Kurta are excited, our eyes turn scarlet. Why?" he asked. You looked up from the hug, "Just curious. You seem to have a lot of hatred for the troupe, and I finally get why. For some reason I still don't feel to strongly about it though."

"I understand. They have been like a family to you, right? It's hard to hate someone who nurtured you that MUCH."

"However, we must return to the hotel now. Uvogin will most likely show up looking for revenge. I don't know exactly why, but I feel a certain kinship to you," he muttered, adding louder, "you should go to the other hotel room with Melody, alright?" You nodded, "Yeah, I get it. I don't stand a chance if he chooses to attack me right now. I can't use any nen for the next half a month or so, so I should stay out of trouble until then."

"Yes, you okay riding in the back?" Melody inquired. "Yeah, that's fine." you smiled softly.

The car ride was absolutely silent, but not because Kurapika was focused on driving. He wanted to know why you were unable to use nen,  what the troupe did, etc. He had so many questions he was unsure of what to say. The only time words were exchanged was after a few minutes, when Melody spoke up. "Y/N, your heartbeat. Something is eating away at you, it's like somethings missing and the idea of how to find out is killing you... how can you make such a sound?!" 

"My... heart tells you all of that?" you murmured in shock. "Yes, it plays the tune of one who has underwent many hardships... it's terrible... it goes babadump badump babadumbadump..." Melody informed.

"I see... that's amazingly accurate Ms. Melody." you bowed your head. "Just Melody is fine, Y/N. But... please, for your own sake. Swallow your pride and accept the truth." 

"I..."

And that was when no more words were needed. Later that night, you heard Kurapika enter. His face was covered with blood. You knew it wasn't his.

"Uvogin is dead?" you asked.

He nodded. 

He looked lost and confused, like even though he hated the spider, he hated killing just as much. All you could do was hug him. And he hugged back. He released the hug and waved, off to go to sleep.
