'He isn't in your league, Rich,' Zion drawled at his shoulder. 'And besides, he's with me. Be a good boy and go and find someone else to play with, mmm?'

Nevin didn't know whether to be glad or sorry when Richard released him.

'The mighty Zion Palmer snaps his fingers and everyone falls into line,' he said bleakly when they were alone.

'Don't tell me you are enjoying his company,' Zion said. ' As far as i can see, you don't look like you're comfortable with Rochard.'

'Oh, you have noticed me and should I  be glad? It seems you are so busy earlier.' He replied to Zion

'Janice is an old friend,' was all he said, but Nevin didn't like the way his eyes narrowed.

'Nevin, Zion, you're here,' Valeria called up to them. 'Why aren't you dancing? Dance with him, him,' she urged. 'That's what parties are for.'

'I'm fine, I don't like.....' Nevin started but he wasn't able to do anything as he was drag by Zion to the dance floor. Zion pulled his waist and placed his hands on his shoulders.

'Try to look as though you're enjoying it,' he whispered, his breath sending shivers over his exposed skin, 'otherwise you'll ruin my reputation!'

He was happy when the music ended and he couldn't figure out why Zion's gaze made him nervous, especially when he was about to say goodbye to Valeria.

'Valeria, we have to go ahead first, please just tell Tony I'm leaving early,' Zion said to Valeria.

'Just wait, let me find where it is first,' Valeria stopped laughing when she saw Zion's appearance, 'Ah, is that so! Oh please go ahead and I'll take care of Tony. Let's get the bag and leave immediately. This Zion seems to be in a hurry.' She added teasingly.

'Do you really have to?' Nevin said almost tearfully as Valeria left. 'It's very obvious what he thinks about us.'

'Like I just said,' Zion said lazily, 'I've got my reputation to think of.' He smiled wickedly at him as Valeria returned with his bag, kissing her on her cheek and promising to be in touch.

'Enjoy yourself?' he asked when they were out of the city.

'It was better than staying at home by myself, brooding,' Nevin admitted. 'You were right about what you said about Drew.' It hurt to speak, but it had to be said. 'I don't think he ever cared for me at all.'

He felt rather than saw the sideways flick of his eyes and prayed that he wouldn't say anything. He was tired and leaned back in his seat, closing his eyes. He must have fallen asleep, for the next thing he knew was a sudden rush of cold air and the reassuring thump of something against his ear. He struggled and heard Zion whisper in his ear, 'It's okay. You fell asleep in the car. Which is your room?'

'You're not carrying me upstairs!' he protested. 'I can manage on my own.'

It wasn't difficult for him to guess which room was his. He had left the light on. Zion dropped him gently on his bed, his hands either side of him, imprisoning him.

'You have lovely skin,' he told her softly, dropping down beside him.

Shock trembled through him, and as though in a trance he watched the slow downward descent of his head, his lips silky against his throat, teasing and tantalising until he was breathing unevenly his hands clenched desperately at his sides to prevent them sliding round him. This gentle assault upon his senses was far harder to withstand, and as his hands caressed the bare skin of his back desire flamed through him. His hands trembled over the buttons of his shirt, sliding inside to caress the warmth of his flesh.
