The night fell and the party has started. I haven't arrived at the event yet, but I could hear talking and soft music being played. Sabrina, Jenna and I were walking in the corridor. They are my "escorts", if you will. My dress wasn't exactly traditional, in a sense that it was much more revealing than anything anyone here will probably wear, ever. It also has a leg split that show off my smooth legs. I was walking towards the party with my head held high and a lot of confidence. My heels were clicking loudly against the floor tiles, but I didn't mind. Sabrina had also styled my hair beautifully prior to this.

It's simple, but I love simple

It's simple, but I love simple. I don't really like having too much going on on my head, especially when it comes to hairstyles, so this was perfect for me. While Sabrina was styling me, Jenna and the two of us had a few glasses of champagne and just enjoyed ourselves with small talk and jokes. It was a good time. "Just so you know, Luci, you are going to blow Kirigan's mind when he sees you." Jenna said as we walked towards the noise, making me laugh. "Jenna! Stop it!" Sabrina said, making me stop walking and look at them both. "There's something I haven't told you yet." They looked at me, then each other, and then me again, seeing me with a smirk on my lips. "What?!" "What?!" They both asked at the same time, eager to know. I looked around to see if anybody was around, luckily no one was. "You remember how I was late this morning?" I asked Sabrina, making her nod. I took a deep breath and smirked. "I was coming back from Aleksander's room after spending the night..." I trailed off making their jaws drop.

Then I continued. "In his bed... naked." I finished making them yell in shock. I shushed them quickly and they went from screaming to giggling. "Oh my god. You fucked him?" Jenna asked, making me nod with a shy smile. "How was he in bed?" Sabrina suddenly asked and my eyes went wide as I choked on air. "Sabrina?!" I chuckled. After it died down I looked at them both with a smirk. "He was amazing in bed." I said with a squeak at the end and we all laughed. We gathered ourselves and went to the party after that. I separated from my two friends and walked past the guests, getting looks from all of them. I found the main room and saw Aleksander standing in front of the King and Queen. I approached them and bowed to the royalty as they saw me behind Aleksander. "Moy tsar. Moya tsaritsa. Pleasure to see you again." "You too, Miss Crowe." That's when I looked up at Aleksander, only to see that his eyes were already on me.

His eyes were glistening with happiness as he admired me and my dress. "Excuse us, Your Highnesses." He said and bowed, making me do the same. He then grabbed my hand and led me away from the two. When we were a bit further away from them, he got close and looked down at me with a small smile. "So this was the surprise?" He asked and I smirked. "You like it?" I asked in a low and almost seductive tone. He leaned close down to my ear and spoke lowly. "I want to rip it off of you and take you where you stand." He leaned back as I felt a feeling of being turned on went down all the way to my core. I sucked in a deep breath as he smirked at my reaction. "The things you do to me, Kirigan." I said with a smirk. "Oh, you haven't seen half of it, my love." I chuckled and suddenly the room became quiet and people moved out of the way for someone. Both Aleksander and I looked towards whatever it was and saw Alina walking in, dressed in a black kefta with gold details.

She looked absolutely wonderful. Genya did an amazing job with making her look pretty. I looked up at Aleksander and saw him a bit annoyed. I placed my hand on his shoulder, but he didn't break his gaze from Alina. "Go easy on her, Aleks." I told him, knowing she was to enter with guards and went against it. He huffed slightly and walked towards Alina. I followed closely behind. "You were supposed to enter accompanied by palace guards." He said and looked around, noticing that people had gone back to talking amongst themselves. I rolled my eyes and hooked my right arm through his left one. "Ignore him, Alina. You look wonderful. Truly." I said to her, making her laugh slightly. He hummed and nodded. "You do look lovely. You decided to wear the kefta I gave you." He said with a tone of approval. "Yes. Thank you for the kefta. It's wonderful." She thanked him for it. That's when the some Inferni Grisha started up the show. It was the twins. Everyone started clapping, but I wasn't amused.

Aleksander kissed me on my cheek and whispered in my ear. "It's time for Miss Starkov to do the demonstration. I'll be back." He pulled away and I nodded, flashing him a smile as good luck. Him and Alina then left and stood in front of the crowd. Suddenly I felt a presence here that wasn't supposed to be here. But it also felt familiar. My eyes flashed red for a second, and I looked around to see if I could see anyone that stood out from the rest. My eyes landed on two people dressed as guards that was standing in one of the doorways. It was a female and a male guard. But I mostly focused on the male. I swear, I have seen that face somewhere before. I scrunched my eyebrows together as I tried to place the face. His face held a permanent frown and his eyes were blue. He has high cheekbones and a nicely structured face. I am sure I've seen him before. I looked him up and down and noticed that he had his weight slightly shifted onto one leg more than the other, meaning he probably has a limp. And that's when I knew. Kaz Brekker. I smirked as I remembered him.

My dear cousin.

That's right. My maiden name isn't Crowe, it's Brekker. Apparently Kaz is a guard here. But I know that he's actually the owner of the Crow Club in Ketterdam. He's a gangster, a con-man. So he must be here for some other reason. And I think that reason is Alina. Even though I haven't seen him in years, I have been keeping tabs on him every once-in-a-while. But it's been a while since I last did, so I forgot a little what he looked like. But now I know that he's all right and alive. I snapped out of my thoughts as the room filled with darkness. It was time.
