1 SIREN 1

Taehyung felt as if he had dreamed, did he dream? he remembers falling, he falls a lot in his dreams. The confusion didn't last long when he suddenly jolted up and coughed out the water from his lungs gasping for air desperately. a hand clasped his chest as he panted looking around him, he was completely soaked. his body hurts like he ran a whole marathon.

"fuck i actually fell" he muttered to himself in disbelief. but that wasn't the only thing he remembered, he clearly remembers the pair of eyes that stared at him. What was that? Was it a shark maybe? no, sharks don't have such glowing eyes.... it didn't make sense. He shook it off for now. He was probably just imagining things because of the lack of oxygen.

But then again, how did he get here? He stood up wobbling on his legs when he did. He was all the way on the other side of the beach on a group of rocks. There is no way a wave could have pushed him on here. He looked around him seeing a wet trail go from him back into the water.

slowly he approached the edge and stared down into the deep ocean water.

there was definitely something down there....

"Jimin, i tell you i almost died! ugh i wish you were here, i need to hug my friend" taehyung whined while he laid on bed calling his soulmate.

"ahw taebear, i want to hug you too. but your story sounds strange. how the fuck do you fall off the cliff and just wake up on a random rock, that doesnt make sense. are you sure you didn't fall asleep there?"

"im sure! my back is still red from the splash, it fucking hurts. I did fall, i know i did! i coughed the water out when i woke up. and these eyes, i saw some eyes. Well I think I did, I'm not sure right now. it does indeed sound really weird.." Taehyung frowned, his story made no sense at all. it really didn't sound believable at all.

"Oeeh maybe it was a secret admirer from the deep. a sexy merman saving you from drowning. like in the movies~" Jimin teased with a seductive voice.

"So dramatic, Mermaids don't even live in this water. the one that washed up was all the way on the other side" taehyung rolled his eyes. It was nothing new that mermaids might exist. Once a strange human creature had washed up on the shore, it was dead and halfly eaten by something, probably a shark. So people all thought that they exist now having actual proof of a humanoid being with a body made for the waters.

"You never know," Jimin said, Taehyung could basically hear the shrug the older made on the other side of the line.

"Ugh, now you make me curious. i'm definitely going back to check tomorrow"

"you're so not gonna see anything. like you said, they don't live here. Actually, we don't even know where they live. maybe they are all eaten, or that mermaid they found was just fake. we didn't see it with our own eyes."

"Are you a conspiracy theorist or something, what are you even saying?" Taehyung chuckled.

"Do you know how cool it would be? seeing an actual mermaid, i wonder what they would look like. would they be like in the stories? who knows."

"you do know that the tales say they also eat humans right?"

"Nah, mermaids dont eat humans. sirens do. there is a difference"

"jimin the mermaid specialist here"

"yah, i'm just having a conversation"

"whateverrr, say hi to yoongi for me. I have to go get my food out of the oven."

"sureee, eat well. i want to see you all healthy when i get back, you can't live on junk food"

"Yes I can, but I won't. I listened to you. i made myself a lasagne with extra vegetables"

"good! then i will talk to you later, enjoy!" Jimin said happily and they ended the call after a lot of 'bye's' because both didn't actually want to end the call just yet.

Taehyung held the lasagne in his gloved hands and placed it on the table. sniffing the delicious smelling meal. He kept thinking about what Jimin said. What if it was a mermaid or merman? no, that isn't possible. and why would it even be so close to the shore, it would certainly know how dangerous it is to be that close. humans could see them. And then most of all, why would it even bother saving him??

"no way man '' Taehyung shook his head with a smile. it can't be possible but he would like the idea of that happening. Mermaids are very pretty, he bets a merman would look absolutely gorgeous, yes, yes he liked men. A small tingle of excitement went through him thinking about this possible merman. "no no, don't think such things. you're going to eat" he hit himself a little to scold himself of his own thoughts.

He was already looking forward to tomorrow, he was going to check out the waters again. if something was down there, maybe he can call it? would they even speak the same language. "Why am I even thinking about this, it didn't happen, a mermaid didn't save me. there is no way" he tried to tell himself that but he can't get the thought out of his head. the eyes lingered so clearly in his mind.

He was surely going to have dreams about it tonight. He had to think about it,

if it wasn't a mermaid, then what were those glowing eyes....

first chapter is a little short i know, but we need to build up a bit, i dont want to spoil too much in just the first chapter hmmhmm.
