Both Lisa and Viv had moved on. They still on followed each other on Instagram and what they were up to but didn't really speak to each other unless they were playing against each other or at the same event where they would have a small chat but nothing much.

They would ask about each other through other people. Even though it was tough, their breakup had been mutual and knew that if they really loved the other that this was the best decision. They had changed in so many ways since they first started dating and were in completely different positions both personally and professionally.

The pair had moved on and found other people. Viv with Beth and Lisa with Grace. Viv didn't really know Grace that well. She knew that she was a great defender and a great leader for West Ham. The young player had already captained her team on multiple occasions. But Viv didn't know her that well personally. Even though she had moved on from Lisa and was now deeply in love with Beth, there was still a love for Lisa and she wanted her to be loved in way that wasn't there anymore in there relationship.

Both couples had been invited to Jen Beattie's birthday party. They had seen each other but hadn't really chat at any point. Lisa hadn't seen a lot of the Arsenal girls in a while now that she was at West Ham and was living in East London.

Beth had been chatting with Jen's girlfriend Amber for ages as they were both from up north and they were on the other side of the room to the table that Viv was sitting at. Viv was unknowingly looking at Lisa and Grace standing close with Grace's hands on Lisa's hips and making Lisa laugh. She knew that laugh and smile a mile off. She knew right then that Grace made Lisa happy and that's all she wanted. A small smile crept onto Viv's face in happiness that Lisa had found someone that made her laugh so much.

At that moment she got pulled out of her own little world by Kirsty Smith. Kirsty played with Lisa and Jen for Scotland and with Lisa at West Ham. Kirsty sat down at the table with Viv and looked over to see where Viv was looking and saw Lisa and Grace.

"Grace is one of the most caring people I know" mentioned Kirsty, "she is so wise for her age and brought back so much of Lisa's energy". Viv smiled at the those words and was so happy to hear that from someone that saw it everyday. "I never thought I would see Lisa in a relationship where it would be further deep into the honeymoon stage then when she was with you Viv" Kirsty further explained. Viv found that funny as it was the running joke that Viv and Lisa deep in the honeymoon stage.

Viv was about to respond when Macca came over and pulled Kirsty onto the dance floor for some high energy dance which Grace ended up joining as well. Lisa then noticed Viv alone at the table and thought this was the best chance for them to see each other just themselves. They hadn't really seen each other in a couple months and that was after they had played each other in the WSL so couldn't really have much of a proper conversation.

Lisa sat down and quietly said high to Viv. There was a brief moment of silence between them, they hadn't really been alone like this since they had broken up had that was well over a year ago. Viv then piped up and said "I see that she makes you happy, your face was brighter and smile was bigger than what I ever could do, I'm happy for Lisa. I'm really happy that she makes you smile so much and brings out the best side of you". Lisa tried not to start crying at those words. She was really happy with Grace, not that she wasn't with Viv, but this was different. She thanked Viv and hoped all was well with Beth and said that she knew that Beth was perfect for her, considering that Lisa had played with Beth and knew her well. At that point, Grace and Beth came over and pulled their girlfriends to the dance floor for the a slow dance. They danced a few slow songs and then the fast up beat songs came back on and Lisa was impressed that Beth had managed to get Viv into a bit of a dancer.

They went their separate ways at the end of the night knowing that the other was happy and that's all they ever wanted for each other.
