What Would I Do Without You

Lisa was in hospital due to a head injury from the game at the weekend against Brighton. She had gone up to head the ball and she hit her head with the the other player and then hit it again on the ground when she fell. There was a lot of blood coming out of Lisa's nose and a big gash on her head. Viv ran over to Lisa when she went down and just stayed with her while she was getting treated. The Brighton player also had got a bad injury and both sets of team doctors needed the paramedics to come onto the pitch for help. As the injuries took a large portion of the game the referee decided to end the game and have the rest of the game played another time.

Viv went in the ambulance with Lisa to the hospital. She didn't want to leave her girlfriends side. Lisa had been unconscious since the injury but the bleeding had stopped. Viv just started crying. She didn't like seeing Lisa like this. Lisa was the love of her life and she wanted to spend the rest of her life with Lisa. When they got to the hospital Lisa got taken off for surgery and Viv had to fill out the forms and then just wait. She was waiting for about an hour before Jill and Katie arrived with a change of clothes and some food for Viv. It wasn't until then that she realised she was just sitting there in her kit and her football boots. Viv had just been sitting there with some tears rolling down her cheeks.

Viv waited another few hours with Katie and Jill before the doctors came to talk to her. They took Viv to see Lisa and said that she had fractured her skull and her right eye socket as well as her nose and her right cheek and jaw. They had done the surgery to repair the broken bones but Lisa had been put into a coma and probably be in it for the next few days. They left Viv with Lisa in the hospital room. Viv didn't like seeing Lisa with all the bruising and in a bad state. Viv liked seeing Lisa happy and bubbly. That's what she loved about Lisa the most.

It was about one in the morning and Viv told her teammates to go home and that she would be fine. Viv sat in the chair in the hospital room with Lisa and ended up falling asleep there. By the time she woke up Lisa's parents were there as well as her sister Mari. Lisa's mum Kate said to Viv that her parents were also coming over from the Netherlands. Viv just started crying and Kate just brought her in for a hug and let her cry into her shoulder. Kate knew how much Viv loved Lisa. She saw Viv as another daughter and knew how much Lisa loved Viv. She saw their love in how they looked at each other.

After a while of sitting with Lisa, Mari took Viv home so she could have a shower and a proper meal. Most of the time that they were together they were in silence. They didn't know what to say. While Viv was in the shower her parents arrived and Mari went back to the hospital. When Viv saw her parents she just started crying because she didn't want to loose Lisa, she didn't know what to do without her. She could barely take being on national team duty and being without Lisa.

Viv went back to the hospital and Lisa's family allowed her to have some time alone with Lisa. Viv ended up getting into the bed and just cuddled her girlfriend. A few tears ran down her cheeks as she started talking to Lisa. She had no idea if Lisa could hear her but it made her happy. Viv talked about how they got together, then moving to Arsenal, getting a house together and all the moments that made their relationship. Every so often the nurses came to check on Lisa and allowed Viv to stay cuddled up with Lisa. She ended up falling asleep there. This happened for the next few days where Lisa's family would be there during the day and Viv would fall asleep cuddled up to her girlfriend.

After a week, Viv was still asleep in Lisa's bed and both Lisa's parents and Viv's parents had arrived to see how Lisa was doing. Then all of the machines starting beeping waking Viv up and she felt Lisa's start to move. She got out of the bed as the doctors came into the room. Both sets of parents ended up leaving the room and watched through the window as the doctor said only one family member could be in the room so they left Viv in with Lisa. They could see Lisa starting to wake up and she was mumbling absolute rubbish. Viv had some happy tears and a big smile on her face. Lisa looked over to Viv and smiled a little. She was initially confused and the doctors got her up to speed with what had happened and then allowed Viv to have some time with Lisa. Everyone came in as well and they talked about what happened. Later that night Lisa's parents and Viv's parents left Viv with Lisa so they could have some time together. Viv got into Lisa's bed like she had done for the past week and gave Lisa a kiss. Lisa mentioned that she had heard everything that Viv had said to her in the past week and they just talked about there relationship before falling asleep.

After a while Lisa was allowed to go home but was on bed rest. Viv was more than happy to do everything for Lisa though. When Lisa could go home, their parents had already gone home because of work so Viv had to take care of Lisa by herself. Viv drove Lisa home and when they got home she saw that Lisa was in a deep sleep. Lisa didn't get a good sleep in the uncomfortable hospital beds so was really tired. Viv didn't want to wake her girlfriend up so she carefully picked her up bridal style and carried her to their bed. Lisa woke up a little and just stretched out for Viv and mumbled for her to come to bed. Viv was happy to do that so got into the bed. Lisa cuddled into Viv and Viv just played with her girlfriends hair for a while was happy that Lisa was alright. She wouldn't have known what to do without her anyway.
