so... the live action movie came out. i haven't seen it yet and have very mixed feelings. halle bailey as ariel? i don't mind; from what i see in the trailers she's amazing.

sebastian and flounder were ruined. just saying that. i don't care that they're realistic; THEYRE NOT MY SEBASTIAN AND FLOUNDER! i don't mind daveed diggs as sebastian, i think it's cool because i liked diggs from hamilton, but seriously disney. sebastian in the remake is a cuban LAND crab. can't even live in the ocean! disney, like... could you have at least picked an aquatic crab?!

sorry, needed to vent there. now let's watch ladynoir unfold (and here's my only spoiler: i was internally fangirling while writing this)

It had been two weeks and Ladybug still didn't know what to think about that kiss.

Was it true love? Was it a fluke?

Was she really meant to be with Cat Noir?

She sat on the rooftop, thumbs tracing the letters on The Little Mermaid case. Neither of them had felt comfortable talking about the subject just yet. She was certain people were probably all guessing on social media what happened to the two of them.

Cat Noir had been her saving grace the entire time, not mentioning the kiss, giving her lots of space. Sure, there was one time when he'd asked her if she was ready to talk about it, but she said she was still figuring things out and bless that cat, he said he'd still wait for her.

Well, if they really were meant to be, at least she knew she had a perfect gentleman as a... a...

She couldn't even think of the last word it made her skin crawl.

The "Ladybug x Cat Noir" fans in Paris would have a field day if they found out.

She flopped onto her back. Why did this have to be so confusing?

"I'm assuming you're still not up for that conversation just yet."

She looked up to see Cat Noir lie down next to her.

"Yeah, still thinking," she said. "Maybe... we should try other movies, just to be sure. It could've been a fluke."

"Yeah..." he muttered. "Flora had seemed really insistent on it though."

"She probably just wanted someone to wake me up," she replied. "I seriously first thought you destroyed the spindle like you did the apple."

"Tried that," he admitted. "Even killed Maleficent. But it had become Merryweather's spell when she changed it from death to sleep. She even explicitly said only true love's... um... that thing, yeah, that only that would break the spell."

Ladybug pursed her lips together. "Look, I really don't want this to ruin everything. I just... everything's so confusing. Like, what would Paris think?"

"Who cares what they think?" Cat Noir countered. "If the spell was right, and it's... meant to be, it shouldn't have to ride on the backs of what the civilians think."

Ladybug let a snort slip though after a long silence. "Why do you have to be like this? I feel inferior to your kindness and all that."

He began chucking as well. "Just my natural charm, Bugaboo."

For the first time, Ladybug didn't snap at him from the nickname as she slid in the disc.

"So, you picked The Little Mermaid?" he asked as they got settled.

"Yeah," she said. "Classic."

They watched the screen turn to bright light, and Ladybug saw it... encase her legs together first?
