CHRISTMAS SPECIAL: Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (Ladynoir/Shadynoir)

merry christmas everyone! as my special gift to you all who read this, i present our lovable reindeer rudolph! and as an extra treat, I've included shadynoir along with ladynoir! and as of the timeframe; I'll let you know that shadynoir has aligned to good by this point. so this takes place after the special. the only difference is that we're still in season 1 ladynoir so i did admittedly take some liberties with the timing.

(and i promise i'm getting the next actual chapter written; a little thing called life kinda threw me for a loop...)

Cat Noir usually kept life predictable.

Having a hang-out with Ladybug during Christmas Eve was definitely not on that list.

But he was still elated when she told him about it, even slipped the hint that she had a very special movie for them too.

Especially since they had their strange ability to travel into movies, he was definitely ready.

But her giddy smile told him she was definitely hiding another surprise.

"Hello, m'lady," he said. "So... what's with the smile?"

She grinned even wider. "Well, I thought it would be fun to do this... especially since it's the holidays and all of the cheer and stuff... so... I was thinking it would be fun to... invite two other people tonight. To go into the movie with us."

Now he was deeply confused. She'd made it clear only the two of them could know about that.

"I know," she replied, and he realized he'd spoken out loud. "And technically I'm keeping it between us two. In a way."

The pieces began to click in his brain. "Wait... you mean..."

She nodded. "You guys can come out."

Who stepped into view were two people he was definitely not expecting to see so soon.

"No way!" he exclaimed. "You're back!"

Shadybug giggled. "Long time no see, kitty."

"Hey!" Claw Noir protested, but was still smiling too. "That's my nickname."

Neither of them had changed much since they last saw each other six months ago. Okay, so they had clearly changed from their days with the mysterious Supreme Ladybug and Cat Noir had only heard of. Both of them were just hoping the Resistance was gaining some ground with their two new allies.

But Cat Noir did notice one change. Shadybug's hair wasn't the deathly black and red it used to be; it was still her natural color with some red highlighting, but she'd put it back up in the space buns.

(because i firmly believe she should've kept the space buns)

"So... what exactly did we sign up for?" Claw Noir asked. "Last I heard Ladybug was talking about going into a movie?"

Ladybug nodded. "See, we've recently discovered that we have this... how do I put it... strange ability to... actually go in movies. And I figured, as a special Christmas gift, we could do this one!"

She held up Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. Cat Noir distinctly remembered watching that one every year when his mother was around. They always timed it to Christmas Eve before he had to get to bed.

So yes, his heart did melt a little and he had to blink back tears knowing his lady had unknowingly brought back the tradition.

"I don't think I've ever seen that," Shadybug cocked her head to the side.
