ACT II

Kate's POV:

Charles' lifeless body is floating on the water, half of his face practically bashed in, red covering his entire face. He looks so helpless, you can see the panic and shock on his face, staring at the cold, night sky in panic. I feel my heart drop. I want to throw up.

"What... the fuck?" I hear Jenna say,

"What the hell happened?" I ask, glancing at everyone that I realise now are standing in a line, all staring down at a lifeless body of someone we all personally love and hate.

"I don't know." James answers, I can see the tears building in his eyes, his chest rising and falling. I turn back to the body.

"I... I don't feel good." Maeve confesses, Regulus and James quickly turn her away and she rushes to the nearest tree, and they comfort her while she throws up.

"What're we gonna do?" I hear James ask, panicked. Beginning to pace back and forth.

"James—"

"—Reg, what do we do—?"

"—Fuck, James, just calm down." Regulus says, glancing at me. Sending me a look of 'everything's going to be okay'. I nod my head and turn to Olivia, her not saying a single word. Her mouth is fallen open, tears falling down her face. It's as if watching the light leave someone's body.

"Olivia, honey," I whisper to her, her head not turning to me. "hey—Olivia, darling," I continue to try get her attention, she slowly turns her head to me. "hey, what happened? How'd you—How'd you find him like this?" I ask her, resting my hand over hers and my thumb strokes the back of her hand.

"Fuck, what're we gonna do?" Maeve says, wiping her mouth as she, Regulus, and James come back over.

"Somebody has to help him." James states the obvious, Regulus rolls his eyes.

"Well, get in there, smart guy and put all your fingerprints on the body, why don't you?" Regulus argues with James,

"You got a better idea?"

"Anything's better than doing that."

"Oh, my— Right, I'm going in." James says, beginning to tug on his tie to take it off.

"No!" Maeve argues, attempting to stop him.

"No, don't." I order him to do yet he takes his green tie off and begins to unbutton his shirt, opening up and revealing parts of his body. Regulus moves in front of him, covering his body from the rest of us.

"No, James, don't!" He barks, sounding angry and like a possessive boyfriend.

"We have to help him—!" James attempts to argue.

"—This isn't fucking working, all right! Everybody shut the fuck up!" Jenna shouts at all of us, everyone turns to her, and she breathes softly. "Let's just take a collective breath, okay? Everyone take a fucking breath." She orders us all to do, we all take a deep breath in.

A groan. We all freeze. Another groan.

We all glance at one another before I realise. It's no one in the circle. I slowly turn around, seeing Charles looking at us, eyes widened even further which I didn't think was possible. Half of his lip is completely not working as he attempts to speak.
