Summary: Katie and Y/n are best friends but get into an argument because Kate likes a guy but Y/n likes Katie and says that the guy isn't good enough for her then they argue until Katie realises her feelings toward Y/n.

Y/n's POV:

"So, you'll never believe what happened to me today." My best friend, my crush, Katie Torres, begins to tell me. Right now, I'm walking her home as we live next to one another, her house then mines. It was how we met, I moved in beside her and she introduced herself, we were 5 and were immediately close. Her family becoming mines, my family becoming hers.

"Ooh, what happened?" I ask her, excitedly. Noticing her glance at me, biting her lower lip. I narrow my eyes and nudge her, earning a soft laugh. "Come on! Tell us!" I say, poking at her side, her squealing and trying to move away from me but I tug her closer to me as a cyclist was trying to move around us.

"Oh, sorry!" She apologises to the cyclist who just huffs and cycles away from us, a slight headshake from them. I roll my eyes and scoff, chuckling softly. "Anyway, so you know Carter from our Math class, right?" She asks me, I nod my head and glance over at her, clinging onto the right strap of my bag.

"Yes." I answer, sucking in a breath. Unsure of where this would go, Katie's had crushes before but she doesn't act on them, she waits for the other but nothing normally ever happens so I'm hoping that Katie doesn't have a crush on Carter. He's a major idiot, dickhead, and is such a bully.

"He started talking to me!" She expresses to me, excitedly, glancing over at my unamused face and huffing, her shoulders sinking. "Oh come on, he's nice."

"He's a dickhead."

"He's nice."

"He is a rich prick who likes to humiliate women." I state, firmly, glancing over at her, having an earphone in my right ear. Music playing very quietly. It helps calm me down, subsiding my anxiety.

"All right, fine, I get it. You don't like him." Katie replies, understandingly. "But I actually think that I like him and I think he might like me back." She expresses to me, a wide grin tugging on her lips. I immediately snap my head toward her, confused. She has never once expressed her feelings toward Carter to me before, just 2 weeks ago, Katie had shouted at him for picking on a freshman.

"You were hating on him two weeks ago, now all of a sudden, you like him?" I ask her, confused at how she's jumped to that sort've conclusion.

"Look, he's been pining for me." She expresses to me, making me scoff.

"Please, the only thing he's pining for is your vagina—" She covers my mouth, pulling me to her and staring me down, our eyes an inch away from one another.

"Don't... say another word." Katie tells me sternly, I smile and nod my head lightly. She shakes her head and removes her hand from my mouth, walking a little faster. I catch up with her, glancing over at her.

"You're walking faster."

"No, I'm not."

"Yeah, you are." I counter, noticing her laugh softly as she glances over at me.

"I'm not walking faster than before."

"Yes. I had to speed up." I continue onto say, noticing her glare at me and clench her jaw.
