Chapter 23: You Better Say Yes!

Hinata's POV

"You have to eat more apples!" Sakura commanded. "You and the baby need all the nutrients in the world!"

"Shhhhhhhh!!!" I shushed as loudly as I could. "Someone might be able to hear you."

Sakura whipped back and forth, "That's not true! The only people who can understand Japanese around here is Ino and her bandmates."

"We're in the middle of a park," I pointed out. "There's already a whole bunch of people with Google Translate out trying to figure out what we're talking about."

Ino appeared at Sakura's side, "Then just quietly eat the apples so everything will be alright."

I pushed the apple away, "I've eaten ten apples in the past two hours! I'm stuffed, people understand that."

The intern and the pop stars did not understand that.

They didn't stop until giant screeching of tires caught the whole park's attention. The door burst open and there was Naruto in his suit from this morning running straight at us (we're sitting by the giant white marble fountain in the middle of the park). Jason came out right behind his president following in suit.

The girls backed up a bit when Naruto finally reached me. I sat there on the edge, watching his every step. His eyes scanned my whole body but he wasn't panting despite sprinting all the way here. Jason was literally gasping for air right behind his president.

Judging by the way his blue eyes kept frantically searching everything, something tells me he knows...

"Naru-"

"Stand up real quick," he said as fast as he could.

I obeyed, completely aware of the thousands of people watching this very scene.

He took two breaths before saying, "Is it true?"

"I-"

"Just answer the question, Hina is it true you're pregnant?" he started the sentence in English and asked the question in Japanese.

Yeah, one of my friends are going to die tonight. But as for me, my whole body was cold with realization that he's angry. Outraged even.

I nodded once.

His blue eyes widened. He started pacing back and forth all the while I was mentally building a hole to hide in. Naruto's angry at me for not telling him. But what I did was for him, not for me. I didn't want to see him hurt, I never have and never will.

The crowd was starting to get ideas as they whispered to one another. I need to leave right now.

I tried to push pass him but Naruto suddenly grabbed my arm. Glancing at him, I noticed he shut his eyes.

"I'm just going to leave you for a bit to think about it," I said softly.

"I don't need to think about it," he murmured. "I've thought about it long and hard."

I didn't miss Jason whispering to Sakura behind us, "He literally took the long way around all of LA just to get here."

She nearly smacked him for dividing her attention from our little love scene.

Bubbles was translating for Gi-yi but her interest sparkled just by the way she spoke. Hyo was just waiting for the right moment to jump up and down with all her hidden fangirl energy.

Naruto finally opened his eyes, the emotion behind them completely unreadable.

"Should I start?"

"Wah?"

"Hinata Lee," my boyfriend raised his voice so everybody in the park could hear him. "For so long, I know you hated me for not keeping a promise I made eight years ago. I know you hated me for letting you go so easily even when you told me to. I should've kept you close, I should've done everything I could to keep you with me but I didn't. I was not a man, I was still only a boy."

What is he saying...? Though the warmth that returned is calming me a bit but still... what is he saying?

"I never knew I fell in love with you the moment I sat down next to you my first day at Konoha High when you answered that question about cytokinesis in biology class. I didn't say anything, but I found you quite an interesting person right then and there."

And here I thought he'd forget his own name when he turns eighty.

"Nonetheless, I figured out I truly loved you a little too late. I never had enough time with you before I let you go but I won't ever let that happen again. You've been out of my life for long enough. Long enough for me to realize I can never let you go again unless I'm writing my own death sentence."

Where is he going with this...?

It wasn't until he released my arm and got down on one knee did I realize. And I nearly cried right there but considering all the phone cameras out, let's still look cool for the world.

"I know that from here on out our life is only going to become a lot more complicated," he reached into his pocket pulling out a small black box. "But I'm ready to face them, with you by my side."

Holy....

He opened the box to reveal a golden band with his name on it, "Hinata Lee, will you help me face those challenges as my wife and the mother of my children?"

I, uhhhhhh, I -

"YOU BETTER SAY YES, HINA!!!" Hyo blew it. "ALL YOUR NARUHINA FANS WILL DIE OTHERWISE!!!!! JUST SAY IT!!!"

I never intended to answer no...

"Yes!" I said and the tears came short afterwards. Naruto looked really relived, I'm guessing it must've been crazy for him to come up with that speech and hope I'd accept.

Hell, I already knew I was going to spend life with him.

He stood up, before slipping the ring onto my left ring finger and open his arms. I jumped into them without a moment hesitation and kissed him hard. Naruto returned the kiss with equal love as he spun me around once.

In the distance, I heard Sakura chuckle to Ino, "I'd like to see what bitchy lady from MTV has to say tomorrow..."
