Chapter 01

DO VOTES AND TONS OF COMMENTS Y'ALL!

“Run”

“Run, Lili, run. Please don’t wait for me.” She says while trying to push me from the room we have been locking up for over ten days. “No, Sisi, I can’t—” I protest with my whispery voice, literally burning which is barely audible. I have no voice right now. No one would be able to hear me like before. I’m not thinking about my voice, though. I’m thinking about us. We need to get out of this mess.

We don’t know why they kidnapped us, what they were talking about. We were just playing in the park with our friends and suddenly, a black van stopped right near the entrance. Some big bulky guy came near us and shooed all of our friends while pointing guns at us. Everyone was afraid and they left us in the park all alone.

Those guys ordered us to climb on the car and we knew nothing after that. They took us here, tortured us, destroyed my voice and I somehow forgot that I can talk too. I sealed my mouth all these days. “You have to, little Lory. Please.” She clutches my shoulder blade and makes me face her. 

“Little Lory, you need to hear me out. You need to run, your vocal isn’t in a very good position and you should run, I’m sure someone will help you. Please.” She says with her pleading voice while I’m trying to ignore the throat pain. “I can’t, Sisi. I can’t leave you here. Don’t—” I wrap my fingers around my throat. “Make me ungrateful.” I whisper. Literally need all my willpower to talk.

I can't believe I wouldn’t be able to sing ever again. My dream. My passion. I would have to bury them all. Nevermind, as long as we both are safe and get out of this situation. Everything is okay. “Please, run—” She whispers and pushes me, I fall on the outside from the window and winch in pain.

Please, God. Save my sister. Please. If she doesn't survive or come back, I would never be able to forgive myself ever again.

I follow my sister’s command and begin to run with my life. The loud coughs make my throat more vulnerable and I spit some blood, still I’m running. Probably I reached my destination, however I lost my older sister there.

My eyes shot open and I feel my body is trembling and a warm feeling engulfs my hurt and my soul together, my throat area is sticky which means I’m sweating as hell. Rolling around I watch the digital clock which is showing four-forty-four. Damn that same time. I sigh and take some deep breaths. Knowing I wouldn’t be able to go back to sleep again, I got up and headed towards the balcony with a packet of cigarettes which provided me enough trouble to hide them from my family.

Bending down to the railing while watching the city lights are so vibrant looking always amazes me. The gigantic view, the small and blurry city lights, the huge sky where the milky way is hidden because of the city lights. I wish I could blackout the whole city to watch the organic milky way. Alas! I can’t.

From the very childhood, I always was a sucker for watching the planet, stars and the milky way with bare eyes. I used to watch them with my elder sister and our Dad. Dad always showed us the planet looking like stars and he used to wake us up very early in the morning to make us see the planet.
