5 Some insight

Hey to anyone that reads this, I'm trying to make my chapters a little longer everytime I write a new one. This chapter contains mentions of abuse, there will be a disclaimer before and after it starts/ends so you can skip.

                    ~Sonic's POV~

It had been almost an hour and a half since I was supposed to have already given Tails the parts! I didn't expect to sleep so long, I ran to his house with the bag, and knocked. Tails opened the door,

"Sorry buddy, I got caught up in stuff, and took a little longer to get the parts to you." I handed him the bag that I still had in my hands. He grabbed it.

"It's okay Sonic! If you don't mind me asking, what did you get caught up with?" He questioned as he walked back inside with me following, and shutting the door behind me. I can't tell him.

"Uhm, I just fell a few times while I was running." I quickly made up a lie, and sat on the couch.

"Well okay than, I'm going to be at my workshop!" He walked off leaving me alone on the couch. -Well that was probably one of the most lame excuses I've ever come up with.- I thought to myself before I got a notification, and picked it up to see what it was. It was Shadow, 'You sure you'll have to be gone for an hour?' I giggled a little bit, and texted him back. 'Yes, Tails might want me to test out the machine like he usually does.' It was true, Tails usually made machines to try and enhance my power, and liked me to test them out. He hadn't said what he was making this time, but I'm sure I'll find out at some point.

"Tails!" I shouted just for him to hear.
"Yeah?!"

"Call me if you want me back later- I'm going for a run!" I informed him before running out of the house, gently shutting the front door as I did. I sped off to the forest to have some time to myself for a while, and climbed a tree to sit on a branch. I layed down on the branch, and looked at the leaves, before slowly dozing off.

                           ~Memories~
                           Sonic's POV

I was being dragged by my Mother after disobeying her, she dragged me to a room where there was dried blood on the floor that she or Father rarely cleaned up. I was struggling against her grip as she slammed the door, and threw me to the floor. I immediately scrambled backward only to hit a wall as she walkes up, and slapped me.

"You do not disobey me Sonic!" She yelled at me angrily as she does a lot. She began to hit me on any free spot with a long whip-like object that she had picked up a moment before. I tried to block the pain away from my chest wih my arms but she held them away as I cried in agony and pleaded for her to stop.

"I'll stop when you learn to behave like a proper child!" She shouted at me as angrily as she did before. This went on for what seemed like an eternity to me. Once she had finally stopped she threw the object to the floor walking out. My once bright azure fur was drenched in a crimson color to the point you couldn't see my original fur color. I slowly got up steadying myself as I grabbed a first aid kit, cleaning and bandaging my wounds before I lost too much blood.

I snapped awake, my breath shaky and quick, as I sat up thinking about my dream.

"Why did I have to have a nightmare about that of all things?" I sighed still thinking about my nightmare. -I could go back to Shadow? No I'm pretty sure I saw Rouge going there as I was running out.- I lost myself to thought just before I heard my phone go off, and I looked at it. Tails wants me to head back, I jumped off the tree, and ran back to the house then walked inside.

"What do you need buddy?" I asked as I walked up to him.

"Could you help me make sure my machine works properly?" He looked at me while holding his new creation.

"Well what does it do exactly?" I wanted to make sure it was safe before I did anything I would regret, of course Tails is a great inventor but he does sometimes have his downs.

"It looks back in people's memories, I think it could help if someone ever forgets something important!" He explained as I immediately temsed up at the thought of him seeing what had happened to me.

"Maybe you should ask Knuckles or Amy- I don't think I feel like you should see my memories bud." I nervously told him, a drop of nervous sweat forming on my forehead before I quickly wiped it off. He almost looked shocked that I had said no.

"Why's that? You always say yes to testing out my machines Sonic." He questioned me curiously as I had expected he would.

"It's just a topic I wouldn't like to bring up, alright? I'm sure someone else would love to test it out though." I calmed down my tone when responding to him as I walked out of the house not wanting the conversation to continue. I ran back to the forest and sat down on the floor while thinking of the possibilities of what would happen if Tails had found out what happened to me when I was younger. He would probably never let me out of the house again, he'd also find out about me and Shadow. I don't want him to know that I keep secrets from him, but he probably keeps some from me aswell. I thought to myself while staring up at the sky to try and calm myself from being so nervous. How wohld he really react to everything though? It's probably better if he doesn't find out. I train of thought continued as I was now laying on the floor messing with the leaves of a bush. I hope he never finds out, it's not something anyone but me should know. I shut out my thoughts after that, and kept messing with the leaves.
