Don't worry, I'm coming

Blaze

Yesterday, I'd abandoned the scotch and gotten some much-needed rest, after all, I knew Haku didn't have Salvador steal all that intel just for him to put his feet up and sit on his ass like he's been doing for the past few years.

I knew Haku was planning to invade Gloria again except this time he had no intention of walking away defeated.

As I made my way towards the faction's holistic healing store, I noticed the streets were mostly empty, I imagine my people were still cowering inside their homes, afraid of magic and 'evil sprits', the smell of burnt sage in the air telling me that my assumption is correct.

I shook my head and chuckled to myself, Offrost weren't wrong about the people of Gloria being cowardly.

The further I walked from the faction's city centre the more life I started to see, the people who lived in the rural area of Gloria known as The Fields were mostly primary workers, if they ever stopped working, the faction would fall apart and I knew they were hardly phased by Salvador's little display yesterday. At least I could rely on some of my people to stand by my side if needed.

Stuck in my head, I hardly noticed the large hooded figure barrelling towards me. He knocked my shoulder, almost throwing me backwards and carried on as if nothing had happened, but not before looking back and sending me an icy glare.

I was going to assume it was accidental but, the look he'd given suggested otherwise. I managed to catch sight of a gold septum piercing which was uncommon in Gloria however, I hadn't spent enough time in this part of the faction to be familiar with the people that lived round here.

Before I could follow the unusual individual, I felt a small tug on my right hand and glancing down, I saw a young woman; although she wasn't a child her height made her seem like just that. The lady looked at me with big brown eyes that would've been a sight to behold if they weren't so bloodshot.

"Hi there," I said, attempting to sound friendly despite my deep voice.

The girl tried to return my grin but, I could easily see something had upset her.

"What seems to be the problem?" I asked, crouching to her height.

"My name is Moira.... and I-I was wondering if you've seen my friend." She spoke quietly, like she was intimidated by my presence.

The chances of me seeing her friend were unlikely considering how big the population of Gloria was and the fact that I rarely came to The Fields, however if someone was missing, I had a problem on my hands.

Ultimately, I'd managed to eradicate crimes such as kidnapping as soon as I took the position of Commander and out of every faction, Gloria had the lowest crime rate.

"Okay then, tell me about your friend and when they went missing."

A brightness appeared in Moira's eyes like I'd solved her problem with that sentence alone.

"My friend's name is Ezri and she went missing about a week ago during the execution, right when The Plague appeared, and I know she needs someone to look for her."

Moira dropped to her knees with her hands clasped as though she was pleading. "Please, Commander Blaze, I can't find anyone who seems to know her but maybe if you ask the Creators they-they will because she's one of them." Moira finished.

Suddenly I was intrigued, could she be talking about the same girl that had completely captured my attention and occupied my every waking thought since that dreadful day?

"Don't worry, I'll help, as best I can. Say, did this girl have a head of curls, freckles and ocean-blue eyes?" I asked before extending a hand for the girl to get up which she accepted tentatively.
