Haku
Contrary to popular belief, since my youth I've always been an optimist because despite what happened to my parents I've always been certain that whoever was responsible would be brought to justice.
It was hilarious that Blaze had tried to flip the switch and call me a power-hungry bastard when all I'd tried to do was expose him for the liar he was, the bigger joke is that so many other factions believed him. When I initially invaded Gloria I had no intention of causing as much harm as I did but Blaze refused to give up the Mirror's location, he left me no choice but to try and overthrow him.
The cunt forced my hand, so I'd sent my army to the doors of his people, but it was never part of the original plan.
Similar to my brother, nobody really knew me and most would be surprised to find that my bedroom consisted of light greys, lighter greens, white and cream, unlike August's room which was shrouded in darkness.
Tonight, something didn't feel right. I'd tossed and turned for hours before I'd realised that sleep wasn't going to make an appearance.
I'd been sitting on a stool, staring out of my bedroom window for some time and although nothing was yet to happen, I had a feeling something would.
I was topless and only wearing shorts that went no lower than the apex of my thighs but my skin felt unusually hot.
I heard August's footsteps as he made his way downstairs from his bedroom and towards mine.
He didn't bother knocking, he knew I rarely had company.
"Brother." He greeted.
I turned to look at him and smiled when I saw him dressed in a black turtleneck. I don't know what he saw in those lousy suffocating garments but he'd started wearing them in his teens and had never stopped.
"Don't tell me you sleep in those too?" I sighed.
August ignored me and moved further into the room. As he came closer, I could see he was dripping with sweat.
"What's going on, you sick?"
"No, I've just been feeling warm, that's all."
"So take off the sweater," I responded.
"The top isn't the problem, I wear these all the time."
I hummed in acknowledgement, there was something wrong.
"It can't be a coincidence that my body's feeling the same," I announced.
Without warning, a burst of light erupted into the sky.
I stood up abruptly and made my way onto my balcony. My mansion was tall enough to overlook the whole of Offrost as well as some of Gloria Bridge.
The burst of light appeared again, the white beam piercing the darkness like a lightning bolt.
Gloria were at it again. There was no way those bolts were formed from natural energy, they had to be using the Mirrors again. But of course, unless I had proof, no one but my own faction believed me.
August joined me on the balcony.
"What are we gonna do?" August asked me.
"We need to- ugh." I doubled over in agony before I could finish my sentence, my insides were burning like I'd downed a bottle of acid.
August rushed over to me, grabbing me by my shoulders and helping me sit.
"What's wrong, are you-" When my brother's eyes fell on my chest, he paused.
