Kokichi's been acting strange lately. Lately he's been more quiet and avoids me quite a bit. I decided to confront him when we were eating dinner at Teru Teru's diner.
"So, Kokichi." I looked him dead in the eye. "What's up."
"I don't know what you're talking about," he said, as he took a sip of his Panta.
"You're acting weird. You're avoiding me more often and you're a lot quieter."
"Maybe you're just being overdramatic."
"Kokichi, what's wrong?"
"I want all of this to end, Shuichi." he looked at his hands. "I don't want you to worry about me. I don't want to die here. I don't want to be here. I wanna go home."
"And we will," I rested my hand on his. "We will get out of here. Together. No matter what, we'll find a way."
"Our main focus right now isn't to get out of here," he looked right at me. "It's to find your Kaede. After, we'll part ways, and never interact again."
"Kokichi, I said this before, we're friends. We're not gonna part ways. I promise, we're gonna get out of here. Together."
He stayed silent for a while. "Shuichi, you're hand."
"Oh-" I snatched my hand away. "Sorry."
"Awh, are you blushing?" he smirked at me. "Your whole face is red."
"I am not! Shut up!" Kokichi laughed at me and I let out a small chuckle. Once again, I found myself wishing that the warmth of his hand remained just a little longer.

We got back to our room, and Kokichi laid on his bed.
"How are your injuries?" I asked.
"Surprisingly, they heal A LOT faster here. All the cuts healed and the cut on my back is completely fine," he said.
"Oh, that's great." I sat down at the table. "We should get back to work soon. We're not strong enough for the castle yet."
"Mhm."
"Oh, Kokichi-" I turned around to face him, but it looked like he was asleep already. I shut up and quietly walked over to him, where he was knocked out cold. I gently smiled as I caressed his cheek. "Thank you for everything you've done," I whispered.
