Red - the color of the ball I threw over her backyard

the color of her cheeks when she first saw me

the color of their roof that I always notice when I visit

the color of the kite we always played with

Red - the color of her shoes when I said goodbye

the color of the car that drove me away

the color of my shirt on my first day of school at a faraway place

Red - the color of her lips after ten years of not seeing her

the color of the roses I gave her when I got braver

the color of her cheeks when we first kissed

Red - the color of the eyes watching us behind a wall

the color of her lips that diverted my attention

Red - the color of the carpet she walked on before she became my wife

the color of our parent’s eyes as we recited our vows

the color of the highlights of the sky as we rode to paradise

the color of the roof of our own house

Red - the color of her purse when she left for work

the color of the eyes I saw once more

the color of the vase I accidentally broke

the color of the telephone that rang

the color of that blinded my mind

the color of the bag I brought as I rushed out the room

the color of the trail I followed

Red - the color of the cutout heart that she held out

the color of the hearts that surrounded the Valentines surprise that she prepared for me

the color of her love, my love —— our love

Red - the color of my hands that held hers tightly every single day

the color that always malfunctioned when we watch in our television screen

the color of the chair we sat on for the next fifty years of our lives

Red - the color of the last rose I gave her before I followed her to heaven
