Tik Tak. He struggles to open his eyes. The light strains his aqua blue eyes. He tilts his head slowly to the right.

Fifty seconds more. He takes a deep breath. He adjusts himself so that he can sit on his bed. The simple task tires him which makes him pant.

Thirty seconds left. He holds his chest and takes in as much air as he can. Then, he looks around the room intently. He stares at the basket of fruits that she left by the table.

Ten seconds. He tries to hum their tune but he could no longer continue after the first note.

Tik Tak. He hears a beep.

Three. He tilts his head upward, calling out to the Lord.

Two. He closes his eyes.

One. He breathes out.

The clock has ticked. Sixty seconds are up.
