I told everyone I didn’t know what they were talking about.
Of course, they just gave me dissapointed looks and looked at each other, to me and shook their heads in a way that reminded me of how a farmer looked at the runt of the litter.
This was yours. They said. Showing me a picture of a motorcycle.
Personally it looked a screaming metal death trap to me, and to look at it made my head hurt. I sat up in bed with everyone waiting on me.
I don’t ride motorcycles. I said simply. They have been asking me questions about myself all morning and to be frank the person they think I’m supposed to be doesn’t sound like me at all.
It was worse when they showed me a picture of some girl I didn’t even know, half expecting me to jump up and say I know her, like a teacher showing some flash cards to a kid who needed to learn the difference between tiger and cat. I shook my head. No.That’s when someone cried. A couple of people came over to me and hugged me and said it was all going to be okay. I said I don’t understand. I just wanted a glass of water. But then they got out some newspaper and another picture of the girl. This time I was in it.
I really don’t know how that could happen but I don’t know the girl.
I read the article, it was about a motorcycle accident.
But I don’t remember a thing.
