They decided to watch a movie together on a rainy, sky darkening, Friday afternoon. With the afternoon classes canceled and the left over allowances in their pockets, they walked with separate umbrellas towards the movie theater. Hands cold and suppressed smiles in check they got tickets from the counter and made their way to a snack bar. The guy in the counter didn’t look up. They had to say “ahem” before they could ask for anything. She decided to give herself a break, since it was Friday. Thus, buy an almond Snicker bar she did with a can of coke and a medium sized popcorn. He was talking out loud like no one was listening and laughed out loud. She was smirking like the walls he didn’t know were there. He went along ahead, the door closing behind him. She tucks a hair behind her ear and shrugged.

Sitting beside him was a miracle. The warmth of his arm and his existence petrifying. What were they watching again? The trailers roll, and having food in one’s hand is kind of hard. It’s almost hard to wait for the trailers to stop and the movie to roll for one to eat up everything they brought for the movie. So unwrap the chocolate bar she did. As soon as she chewed, pushing the chocolate and almond to the side of her mouth, she felt a digging sensation. It was as if the almond was drilling into her molar. She had to remind herself not to chew chocolate there. It was too late to stop herself from letting out a feint “ow” and having him hear and curl his lips up.

"What’s up?"

"Chocolate. You know. Tooth." she found it difficult to say anything to him.

"What?" his face was filled with confusion you can practically see the language barrier.

"I have sensitive teeth."

He laughed.

"Sometimes I can’t understand you."

For some reason she glanced at her friend sitting next to her. She felt helpless and silly. Her friend just smiled knowingly. This wasn’t exactly a date. It was a set up. It was convenient. It was bittersweet like the pain in her tooth when she eats chocolate.

Alas, it was a group date.

TO GOD BE THE GLORY!

Alright, it was from the train of thought but my friends will probably get hints of the “feeling” here.
