Chapter 17: Fight or Flight

Y/n's Pov:

I knew I had to meet up with the others and had to be quick before Nadakhan realizes I'm alone. I ran and jumped from tree to tree and using some vines to swing across faster and cover more ground.

'I'm so far away, I'll never make it back before nightfall.'

I used my axe to cut overgrown grass or anything in my way. It was like this for hours til it was becoming nightfall.

I ran and almost fell of a cliff that over looked the beach and saw the others just making it back.

I had faith in D/n and jumped onto a nearby tree and did a Night Fury call before swinging on the vine and falling off the cliff.

I saw D/n ear appendages perk up and he turned his head and saw me swinging off the cliff.

D/n acted fast and ran away from the others and climbed up a nearby tree before he jumped and while trying to fly on his own and we crashed in the sand.

I brushed the sand off me and D/n shook it off.

"Hey guys, hope you didn't mind if I dropped in." I said

"Y/n? Where did you just come from?" Nya asked

"The top of the cliffside over there." I said pointing to it.

"You jumped off the cliff didn't you." Cole said

"Yeah, it was the fastest way to get down." I said

"Why am I not surprised?" Cole sighed and 
D/n gave me a "really" look.

"I like to live on edge you could say." I responded smirking.

'I have lived with my life in danger for a while.'

"What happened while I was gone? Where's Jay?" I asked looking around

"He...He was taken by Nadakhan and we lost the venom and the Tiger Widow, so we'll have to go after the Slitherwing and get its venom tomorrow." Lloyd said

"Y/n while we were all separated did you happen to find a Slitherwing?" Cole asked

"Yeah, nearly died, but I found one and it's cave." I said

"Good, looks like we know where to find one. Let's make camp and get some sleep then." Lloyd said

We all agreed and made a makeshift camp. Soon everyone fell asleep except for me. I decided to try and gather what was left of the ship and pull it to shore.

After 2 hours I got what I could and went to bed.

The next day I woke up before the others and started working on D/n's tail since it was broken due to the lightning blast it took.

Unfortunately for me the rods were dented and I needed to find different components and fix the tail since I didn't have a spare with me.

It took longer then I thought it would and I needed to find the right parts. I fixed what I could for now. The others woke up an hour later.

D/n was up and caught everyone some breakfast before we left into the woods.

"Morning sleepy heads." I said as we walked

"Morning, how come your up so early?" Nya asked

"I couldn't sleep and stayed up for a bit and just happened to wake up early." I said
