Ironhide was gone, Sideswipe was devastated. He cried in his hab inconsolable for weeks until eventually Ratchet found a way to hopefully bring Ironhide back.
Ratchet found Sideswipe sitting alone in his hab, still crying over the loss of Ironhide. He knew he had to do something to help his friend, and he had an idea.
"Come with me, Sideswipe," Ratchet said gently, placing a hand on his shoulder. "I think I might have a way to bring Ironhide back."
Sideswipe looked up at him, his optics wide with hope. "Is that possible?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
"It's a long shot, but I have an idea," Ratchet replied, leading him to a secret room in the back of the base. Inside the room was a large device that looked like it was made of spare parts.
"What is that?" Sideswipe asked, looking at the contraption with curiosity.
"It's a time machine," Ratchet said simply. "I've been working on it for a while, trying to perfect it. And I think it might be ready to use."
Sideswipe's spark filled with hope. "Can we really bring Ironhide back?" he asked, his voice trembling with emotion.
"We can try," Ratchet said, placing a hand on his friend's arm. "But we have to be careful. Time travel is dangerous, and we can't change anything that's already happened."
Sideswipe nodded, his optics bright with determination. "I'll do whatever it takes to bring Ironhide back," he said.
They both climbed into the time machine, and Ratchet set the coordinates for the day that Ironhide had disappeared. As they traveled through time, Sideswipe felt a mix of excitement and fear. What if they couldn't bring Ironhide back? What if they messed up the timeline?
But as they landed in the past, Sideswipe saw Ironhide standing in front of them, alive and well. He ran to his mate, tears streaming down his face as he hugged him tightly.
"Ironhide, you're back!" he exclaimed, unable to contain his happiness.
Ironhide hugged him back, his own eyes tearing up. "I missed you too, Sideswipe," he said, his voice choked with emotion.
Ratchet watched the reunion with a smile on his face, glad that his time machine had worked. As they traveled back to their own time, Sideswipe felt a sense of peace wash over him. He knew that they couldn't change the past, but they could make the most of the present.
Together, Ironhide and Sideswipe faced every challenge that came their way, knowing that they were stronger together than they ever could be alone. And Ratchet smiled, knowing that he had helped bring two of his closest friends back together.
