Drift sobbed into Optimus' chasis after a failed mission where they lost Crosshairs, the samurai was distraught and was clinging to his mate as a lifeline though past fears had been reawojen and he was terrified he would lose Optimus too.

Drift held onto Optimus tightly, his body shaking with sobs that wracked his entire frame. His heart felt as though it was breaking into a million pieces, and he couldn't stop the tears that flowed down his face.

The mission had gone horribly wrong, and they had lost Crosshairs, one of their closest friends and fellow Autobots. Drift had fought alongside him, and now he was gone. The samurai felt like he had lost a part of himself, and the pain was almost too much to bear.

But what terrified Drift even more was the thought of losing Optimus. He had been through so much in his life, and he had always felt like he was on the verge of losing everything he cared about. And now, with Crosshairs gone, Drift was more afraid than ever.

He clung to Optimus as though his life depended on it, sobbing into the Autobot leader's chest. "I can't lose you too," he whispered, his voice choked with emotion. "I don't think I can handle it if I lose you too."

Optimus held him close, his arms wrapped around Drift's trembling form. "Shh, I'm here," he said softly, his voice a soothing presence in the midst of Drift's pain. "I'm not going anywhere, Drift. I'm here for you."

Drift nodded, his face buried in Optimus' chest. He knew that the Autobot leader was right, but the fear inside him was still so strong. He had lost so much in his life, and he didn't know if he could take losing anything more.

Optimus held him for what felt like hours, his comforting presence a balm to Drift's shattered heart. And slowly, the samurai began to calm down, his sobs becoming less frequent until they finally stopped altogether.

He pulled back from Optimus, looking up at him with tear-streaked optics. "Thank you," he whispered, his voice hoarse. "I don't know what I would do without you."

Optimus smiled, his hand reaching up to gently brush away the tears from Drift's face. "You don't have to worry about that," he said softly. "I'm here with you, and I always will be."

Drift nodded, his heart feeling a little lighter. He knew that the pain of losing Crosshairs would never go away completely, but with Optimus by his side, he felt like he could face anything.

And as he leaned in for a kiss, his fears began to fade away, replaced by love and hope for the future.

Optimus could feel the weight of Drift's pain and fear, and it pained him deeply to see his mate suffer so much. He knew that Drift had been through so much in his life, and the losses he had experienced had left deep scars.

But even in the midst of his own pain, Optimus knew that he had to be strong for Drift. He had to be the rock that his mate could cling to, the unwavering presence that would never abandon him.

As they kissed, Optimus poured all of his love and devotion into the moment. He wanted Drift to know that he was always there for him, that he would never leave him alone in his pain.

And slowly but surely, Drift began to relax. The sobs that had wracked his body began to subside, and the weight of his fear began to lift.

Optimus held him close, his arms a safe refuge for Drift to cling to. And in that moment, nothing else mattered except their love for one another.

As they pulled away from the kiss, Drift looked up at Optimus, his eyes filled with gratitude and love. "I love you," he whispered.

Optimus smiled, his own optics shining with emotion. "I love you too," he said softly. "We're in this together, Drift. We'll face whatever comes our way, side by side."

Drift nodded, his heart full of hope and love. And as they held each other close, they knew that no matter what the future held, they would face it together, their love a beacon of hope in the midst of the darkness.
