Iron Legion sentries broke through the wall behind Ultron and flew into the room.
Steve kicked the table at one of the sentries, but was knocked back with it on impact. Thor swung his hammer at one of the sentries and pushed it away.
Hayden followed Tony and Rhodey and jumped over the railing. They slid down the glass and descended to the floor below.
A sentry passed by and knocked Tony down. Rhodey tried to shoot one of them but was knocked down by a repulsor shot and fell through the glass behind him.
Hayden jumped over a table and escaped the sentry's fire. He took cover behind a pillar.
"Good thing I only left the Laser in the TARDIS." Hayden muttered to himself as he pulled his Sonic Screwdriver from his jacket.
The sentry continued to shoot at him, but Steve jumped on top. He flew backwards, smashing Steve against the wall and knocking him down.
"Hayden!" Maria exclaimed from behind cover.
"No need!" He said as he sprinted out of the pillar toward a sentry. Once close enough, used his Sonic Screwdriver to disrupt the repulsor and make it break.
Bruce and Natasha ran up the stairs, another sentry shot at them. Natasha fired her pistol at them.
Hayden ran to avoid a sentry's shot, until he was hidden behind a wall.
Nearby, Tony ran up the stairs and jumped over the railing onto the back of one of his sentries. He tried to stab him in the neck with a knife.
"Stark!" Steve shouted from below.
"One second!" shouted Tony back.
Steve ran to a mangled sentry standing near Helen and grabbed him.
"Thor!" He threw it at the god, who brought down his hammer to destroy it.
Hayden looked to his right and saw Steve's shield leaning against a wall. He ran to him and grabbed the red, white and blue circular object.
"Steve!" Hayden shouted as he threw the shield at him like a Frisbee.
Steve caught it, turning back to the sentry and using his momentum to throw it as well. He hit it, splitting the final robot in half.
The room was silent as everyone stood there trying to process what just happened.
"That was dramatic." Ultron remarked, still limping on the platform.
Hayden leaned against the wall, holding his side and catching his breath.
"I'm sorry. I know your intentions are good. But you haven't thought it through. You want to protect the world, but you refuse to let it change. How can you save humanity... without allowing it... to evolve?" Ultron explained.
He walked over to a destroyed sentinel and picked it up by the head.
"With this?" He asked, crushing his head. "... Those puppets?"
He threw the sentry away.
"There is only one path to peace... The extinction of the Avengers."
Thor had had enough. He threw Mjölnir at Ultron, destroying him. The hammer returned to his hand.
The robot chanted one last thing before shutting down.
"I don't need... Any hand... Pulling strings."
Hayden sighed as he walked over to Thor.
"Okay... That was creepy..."
