Steve went to London to attend Peggy Carter's funeral. Sam and Natasha followed, supporting their fellow Avenger and friend. When it was over, Steve stayed in the church, in his thoughts and looking at the picture of his late lover.
Natasha approached Steve. He turned and noticed his friend.
"When I came out of the ice, I thought everyone I had ever known was gone." He said as he looked at Peggy's picture. "Then I found out she was alive. I was just lucky to have her."
"She got you back too." Natasha replied.
Steve sighed, choosing to change the subject.
"Did you sign?" He asked.
"Yes." Replied Natasha.
"Anyone else?"
"Tony, Rhodey, Vision." Replied the former SHIELD agent.
"Clint?" Steve asked.
"He chose to retire."
"Wanda and Hayden?" He then asked.
"On hold." Sighs Natasha." I think Hayden is waiting to hear Wanda's decision before he makes up his mind. Even though he's clearly against the deals, if she agrees, he'll be there to help her. And she refuses and the government wants her in jail, he'll be there to teach them that going after those he cares about is a bad idea."
"Anyway. I'm off to Vienna for the signing of the Accords. There's plenty of room on the jet." Natasha offered Steve, hoping he would change his mind and sign as well.
Steve sighed, and she noticed his reluctance.
"Just because it's the path of least resistance doesn't mean it's the wrong path. Staying together is more important than how we stay together." She adds.
"What do we give up to do it?" Sighs Steve. "I'm sorry. I can't sign it."
"I know." Replied Natasha.
"So what are you doing here?"
"I didn't want you to be alone." Replied Natasha.
Steve nodded and hugged Natasha.

In the Avengers compound, Hayden walked into the living room where he saw Vision sitting on the couch in front of a chessboard.
"Playing chess by yourself?" He remarked.
"It's pretty interesting." Vision replied.
Hayden chuckled as he sat down on the couch across from him.
"We used to play it quite a bit in the academy." He said.
"On Gallifrey?" Vision asked.
The mention of his home planet made Hayden go from his usual joy to a hint of sadness. Neither he nor Wanda had mentioned the disappearance of his planet. Even though he thought he was already the last Timelord, the presence of his planet comforted him. He quickly concealed his sadness and answered the Synthezoid's question.
"Yeah. I may not have been the best, but I was doing pretty good anyway." He said.
They played a few games and it ended in a tie. Each had as many wins and losses as the other.
Wanda joined them as they finished their last game.
"It looks like you're having fun. She said.
"We are. Vision is very good at this game." Said Hayden.
"And Hayden is a formidable opponent. He foils all my predictions." Complimented Vision.
Vision was a close friend of Hayden's. He helped Hayden when he needed it and Hayden had helped him recover from the time he killed Lazarus.
