One night, while everyone was asleep, Hayden was sitting in an armchair holding a folded piece of paper.
He unfolded it, looking at the deed to a property in Westview, New Jersey.
Unbeknownst to the entire team, Hayden had gone to great lengths to try and find a place to spend the rest of his life with Wanda. He wanted to settle down instead of living in a spaceship. Vision had helped him and found the right house in a place that was both pleasant and quite isolated.
Having Vision as a close friend was a blessing. He always visited and spent time with them during their two years away from the United States.
Hayden continued to look at the deed, seeing both his name and Wanda's on it.
He smiled, planning one day to surprise Wanda with it. And maybe... propose to her.
He snapped out of his thoughts, folded the paper, hid it and went to his room to sleep at Wanda's side.
She wrapped her arms around him and planted kisses on his shoulder. She knew he was still suffering and wanted to comfort him as much as she could.
"Sladke sny. (Sweet dreams.)" she said.
"Dobrú noc, moja laska. (Good night, my love.)"

For the first time in a long time, Hayden was back on the red plains. The wind blew in his face and he tried to shield his eyes.
He didn't know the reason for his visits to this place, but did his best to keep his cool.
He walked along the plains of his vast red environment. Until he found himself in front of the house from the last time. He opened the door and entered.
"Hello?" he shouted.
Hayden went into the living room. Everything looked like his childhood home, from the sofas to the artwork on the walls to the frames on the tables. He walked over to one of them, picked it up and saw a faint photo of him with his mother before he left for the academy.
"Hello." Said a voice, behind him.
Hayden put down the frame and looked to where the voice was coming from. And he saw his mother standing by the sofa. There she was, her long blonde hair loose with a straw hat on her head, looking up at him with her blue eyes.
"Mom?" He sighed.
"You're in pain. Come here." She said as she held out her arms, offering him a hug.
Hayden didn't hesitate and went to hug his mother. He didn't know if this was real or just a dream.
"What is it?" He asked, continuing to hug her.
She didn't answer the question and left the embrace to stroke his cheek.
"All you need to know is that I love you, Hayden. Even when you're gone, I'll always love you. I'm proud of what you've become." She said.
Hayden sighed, a little suspecting that she'd be proud of him. But he wished she were still alive, that he could introduce her to Wanda, or simply that she could live her life away from Gallifrey, before she disappeared.
"I miss you, Mom. And now that Gallifrey's gone..." he began to say, lowering his eyes.
"Are you happy?" She asked.
Hayden looked at her again.
"Are you happy with what you have right now?" She asked again.
"Yes... even if our circumstances aren't ideal, I am." He replied.
