A month later, Wanda awoke to the sensation of fingers running over the skin of her neck. Puzzled at first, she turned to face Hayden. She smiled, remembering how she had spent the night in his room. She was greeted with a smile from her boyfriend, who noticed the excitement in her eyes.

"Happy birthday, honey." He murmured as he leaned in to kiss her on the forehead.

"Thank you. You're so sweet." she whispered back, still in a sleepy state.

Hayden had been waiting for this day. He didn't know if she wanted to celebrate her birthday, but he still wanted her to feel special. He was willing to do whatever Wanda wanted.

"Do you still want to celebrate it? I know I do..."

Wanda quickly pecked her lips, knowing he was about to mention Pietro.

"Yeah, I'd love to. He wouldn't want me to sulk on our day." She said, smiling softly, and gave him another soft kiss.

They went through their usual morning routine and Wanda grabbed one of the sweatshirts from Hayden's closet.

"Everyone's out today, right?" She asked.

"That's right, ma'am. Looks like we have the complex all to ourselves."

Hayden walked over to Wanda and wrapped his arms around her waist.

"What do you want to do today?" He asked.

"A movie with me in your arms would be enough for me." She offered.

"We'll add that to the list." Said Hayden, then thought of another idea. "The pantry is full. How about a cake?"

"Can you bake?" Wanda giggled.

"I speak every language in the universe, so following a recipe book shouldn't be hard." He laughed, before placing another kiss on Wanda's lips.

The couple spent the next few hours in each other's company. They ate breakfast, watched a movie and snuggled together whenever they wanted.

Hayden was in the kitchen baking the cake, convincing Wanda that he would do it right. After a moment of setting up the ingredients and getting ready, Wanda got up from the couch and walked over to the counter. She wrapped her arms around her torso.

"This cake gets all the attention." Wanda muttered against her shoulder.

"The perfect cake needs attention." Said the Time Lord, somewhat amused by his girlfriend's current attitude.

"Just leave it, give me some attention."

"But I have..." Hayden began.

"Please."

She began to kiss his neck and in a hurry he tried to turn around, spilling the container of flour. This invaded the couple, who laughed at the situation.

"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry," Hayden said between laughs. Wanda began to wipe the flour from her face.

"Apology accepted."

Hayden chuckled and pulled her closer. Their lips met again, both passionately kissing once more. Hayden's hands ran along Wanda's waist. They would have done a lot more if it hadn't been for the sudden sound of a cough nearby.

They gasped and looked at the rest of the Avengers team near the living room door, all in casual attire.

"Well...what a mess." Natasha giggled as she looked at the flour-covered countertop.

"I thought you guys had stuff to do?" Hayden asked them.

"Getting my hair done doesn't take that long, Hayden." Replied Nat.

"DMV let me cut the line once they saw me." Added Rhodey.

"The new parts for Red Wing don't arrive until tomorrow." Said Sam.

"My flight to London has been canceled." Cut in Steve.

" ... I've been here all this time." Replied Vision.

Sam walked over to Wanda and gave her a hug, wishing her a happy birthday.

"Hayden is baking you a cake? Are you trying to burn down the complex?" Sam joked.

"Ha ha." Replied Hayden. "It was going to be fine, I swear."

"Well, now that we're all free. How about we do something together? If that's okay with you, Wanda." Steve asked the redhead.

Wanda smiled, looking at the team before her. They weren't just a team, they were friends.

More than that, they were family.

Wanda wrapped her arms around Hayden's waist, and he put an arm around her shoulder. He was more than willing to give up this attempt at baking.

"That would be great." Answered Wanda.

--------------------------------

The day was spent with the Avengers having fun. They all celebrated Wanda's birthday in the main room with music, food and games.

Steve had fun telling stories and hearing jokes. He and Sam were the ones laughing the most.

Rhodey finally got through one of his stories, eliciting awe and laughter from the team.

Vision also had a good time. He looked at the plate of food on the table, wondering what it would taste like.

Natasha had a drink with Wanda, making sure to treat her as the guest of honor. She had a knack for throwing good parties like this.

The only thing missing was the party demon himself, Tony Stark, who was currently away on business.

Other than that, Hayden appreciated how the team helped make Wanda's day special. He was lucky to have them by his side.

Once the night was over and the living room was cleaned up, everyone called it a night. Hayden walked with Wanda down the hallway to her room. He had his arm around her.

"Did you enjoy the evening?" He asked her.

"Sure. It was great."

They stopped at her door and Hayden held her hands.

"That's all I wanted. For you to have a great day." He said.

Wanda smiled and stroked the tops of her hands with her thumbs.

"I'll let you get some sleep. Good night." Said Hayden softly, and leaned in to kiss her.

They kissed tenderly, then more passionately. Wanda grabbed the back of Hayden's neck and pulled him closer. Her sudden movement caused him to press her against the door, but she didn't mind.

Wanda pulled away, her hands still gripping the back of Hayden's neck. Their faces were inches apart as they caught their breath.

"Spend the night with me, please." Said Wanda in a seductive tone. She wanted him. She needed him.

Hayden simply nodded and continued to kiss her. He opened the bedroom door in the middle of the embrace and quickly closed it once they were inside.
