The Avengers finally had a lead on the whereabouts of Brock Rumlow. At first, the team thought they had a lead on Bucky Barnes, but upon further investigation, it turned out to be Crossbones himself.
Rumlow was targeting local police stations, and this time the team wanted to take him down for good.
Some of the team wondered how Rumlow had even survived the collapse of the Triskelion, especially Sam, who fought him before narrowly escaping. Hayden had heard about those moments.
Their first encounter with the Winter Soldier. Nick Fury faking his death. The revelation of HYDRA in SHIELD.
It was an eye-opener for Steve. How government agencies and governments themselves could turn against them.
At this point, Natasha, Wanda and Hayden were undercover at a local coffee shop. They were spread out so as not to attract attention.
Wanda was wearing a cap as she sipped her tea. Behind her, a few tables away, sat Natasha who was also having a drink. Hayden leaned against a wall, wearing sunglasses and reading a magazine.
"Okay, what do you see?" Steve asked Wanda through his earpiece. Wanda took a quick look behind and saw the two cops.
"Basic cops. Small police station." She looked back again and surveyed the area. "Quiet street. It's a good target."
Meanwhile, Rogers looked out a window onto the street.
"An ATM, which means?" He asked.
"Cameras." Replied the witch.
"Both cross streets are one-way."
"So compromised emergency exits?"
Hayden turned a page in his magazine, hearing their exchange, and interjected.
"It means he doesn't care about being seen. He's not afraid to do damage on the way out." He said.
"See that Range Rover halfway down the block?" Asked Steve Wanda.
"Yeah? Nice red." Wanda commented.
"And armored, which means private security guards... which means no more guns... which means no more headaches for us." Cut in Natasha as she took a sip of her tea.
"You know I move things remotely." Wanda remarked nonchalantly.
"Really? I didn't know that." Hayden replied sarcastically.
"Watch your mouth." Wanda smiled as she sipped her tea. "You don't want to mess with me once we're done here."
Hayden chuckled, he loved the playful banter they had from time to time.
"I'm starting to miss your beautiful accent." He said.
Meanwhile, Sam Wilson was walking along a rooftop overlooking the city. He spoke into his communications.
"Are Bonnie and Clyde done yet? I'm starting to get sick to my stomach."
"That flying suit might be a little tight." Hayden riposted.
"Focus." Said Steve to the team. "Six months we've been tracking Rumlow,,I don't want to miss him."
"If he sees us, he won't run. He hates us." Sam scoffed.
"Who do you think he hates more? Cap or Sam?" Asked Hayden.
"Maybe the guy who dropped a building on his face." replied Natasha.
"Of course that's not me. All I did was get a few shots and jump out the window." Interjected Sam.
Cap ignored the exchange and looked out the window, seeing a garbage truck rolling down the street.
