"Oh shit." Jalen whispered, standing up.
Jordan hit the court with impact, making a gasp erupt from the arena. He didn't get up immediately but held his back, face scrunched in pain.
This would be a nasty loss for the Warriors, whom had been very successful with Jordan Poole starting and Steph coming off the bench. It looked bad with him landing on his back and tailbone area, but after a few seconds he still tried to stand up.
He failed and opted to lay on his front as medical assistance rushed out onto the floor.
"That looked bad." Mariah said, saying what everyone was thinking out loud. "That looked really bad."
Destiny grimaced watching how his light-skinned face turned red. "What happened?"
"He fell on his back." Ryan said. "It looks like it'll probably be a tailbone contusion, though."
Jordan was able to get up and walk to the locker room under his own power and Donte' checked back into the game for the remainder of the fourth quarter. The Warriors were up by 14 with about a minute left so no one was particularly worried about the game but everyone's mind was on the Warriors young point guard.
"The good thing is Steph is back to being able to play his regular minutes so if JP needs to miss time then the Warriors will be good." Jalen explained to Destiny when they were in the Uber on the way back to the hotel.
Destiny scrolled through her Twitter, looking at peoples reaction to Jordan's injury. "Wait, he has to miss games?"
"No one knows yet, baby."
"Oh."
She decided that there was nothing to worry about until they gathered all the information. Destiny was probably just going to swing by his hotel room later to see how he was doing. For now, she and her siblings were going to do some shopping in Sacramento.
It was later in the evening but there a strip of boutiques that usually stayed open later so they took advantage of them.
Afterwards the group got food before going back to the team hotel. Mariah and Ryan wanted a night to themselves and Jalen was going to play the game. So to avoid being by herself, Destiny sat in her fathers hotel suite on her phone as he made calls.
"At most just one game for Poole?" Joe said into the phone. "Good that the series is headed back to San Francisco."
She laid across his bed, taking a deep breath.
Destiny had so much on her mind already with Christian and things like that. She was supposed to be not thinking about it but at this moment nothing else was on her mind. Of course, she was worried about Jordan but not quite as much as the state of she and Christian.
"Sweetheart, I'm gonna head to Jordan's hotel room to talk eligibility for next game and things like that. Are you coming?"
She lazily shook her head. "Mhm."
They took the long walk to Jordan's hotel room, which was on the other side of the large hotel for an inexplicable reason. Destiny was tired but she was going to make sure her friend was doing alright before she went to bed.
Entering his hotel room had Destiny keeping her eyes aimed towards the ground as soon as they walked in. Jordan was shirtless as he laid on top of a heating pad, chewing on ice.
"How you doing, JP?"
Jordan was in quite a bit of pain but he had not missed a game all year and intended to keep it that way. "I feel fine. To be honest, it's just sore."
