Going to trial against her mother was the hardest thing Destiny ever had to do.

She tried to take into account all the things her mother put her through but all she could think of was how hard it was to put the woman who'd raised her, behind bars. In spite of everything, Destiny loved her mother and wanted her to heal.

Her mothers attorney stared her down, both intimidating her and frustrating her. "Destiny, what's your first and last name?"

"Destiny Clark." She said, trailing off. "Hyphen Poole."

"Miss Poole, when you began pursuing a relationship with your husband, what was your mothers initial reaction?"

Destiny glanced around the room before leaning close to the microphone. "She didn't like it. My Mom- Janine didn't appreciate our relationship."

"Do you remember the exact date of when you met Mr. Poole?"

"I do not remember the exact date, no."

"Okay..." Her attorney had the smallest remnants of a smirk on her face. "Do you have a time period of when you may have met him?"

Destiny glanced up before tilting her head. "Late March. With a few games left in the regular season. So, maybe late March or early April."

"Is it true that you and Jordan Poole eloped in the summertime in Michigan?"

"Yes."

"After two months of knowing this young man..." The attorney moved closer to Destiny's stand. "You married him?"

"Objection, Your Honor." Nicole stood up. "Is this relevant?"

"Sustained."

Janine's attorney rolled her eyes at Nicole. "Were you present on the night of your husband being drugged?"

"I landed in San Fran after the fact."

"Who informed you of this?" She asked Destiny.

"My ex fiancé, Christian."

Her attorney raised an eyebrow. "The ex fiancé that you left for your now husband, Mr. Poole?"

"Objection, Your Honor." Nicole stood again. "This has nothing to do with Draft Night."

"I'll overrule it on the grounds of Mr. McCafferey being present that night."

Nicole sighed and Destiny looked at her, not sure what her mothers attorney was trying to imply here. It wasn't making sense.

"Um.." Destiny adjusted the microphone. "I didn't leave him for Jordan. I left him because he and I were in different spaces in life."

"Did you or did you not get into a relationship with Mr. Poole as soon as you called your engagement off?"

Destiny looked at the judge. "Seriously?"

"You were questioning Miss Clark-Poole regarding Draft Night. Keep it there." The judge instructed her mothers attorney. "Continue."

Janine's attorney rolled her eyes again. "When you landed in San Francisco, why didn't you go directly to the hospital?"

"I tracked Jordan's location and it wasn't at the hospital." Destiny said, getting slightly annoyed. "So I went to the arena then I went to Kim's house. And I found him there."

"How do you know for sure it was Janine behind what happened to Mr. Poole?"

"Christian showed me messages and recorded phone calls." She said. "I have those in evidence if you'd like to see it."
