"I don't like this." Destiny whined, walking up the front steps of her family's house with Jordan. "It's gonna be weird."
Jordan stopped her at the front door. "If it goes bad, we go rebel and elope in Vegas. If not, we go rebel and elope in Vegas."
"Deal."
They linked pinky's just as the door opened, revealing Janine who was dressed up just like everyone else.
As she looked at Jordan and Destiny standing there, Janine almost felt guilty. Her daughter looked at Jordan with a mischievous smile, one that she'd never quite seen before. Destiny was her child, so she her well enough to know that her child looked at the young guard like he was the moon and stars standing right in front of her.
Jordan towered over Destiny in height but Janine could tell in his mind, that he placed Destiny miles above him. They loved each other and it was no secret.
Pride was a scary thing, though because Janine couldn't think of Destiny's happiness before thinking of her own. Janine couldn't be happy knowing that Destiny was with someone she didn't pick for her.
"Hey, you two." Janine put on her best smile. "The cooks are about to put out dinner soon. You guys got here just in time."
Jordan didn't know what to make of the woman that tried to have him traded, had lunch with girl that was trying to ruin his relationship with Destiny, but was too comfortable with him seeing her daughter all of a sudden.
As soon as they got into the dining room, Jordan shook hands with Joe. "What's good, boss?"
"How are you feeling, JP?"
"I'm doing good."
"Ready for the draft?" Joe asked.
Jordan nodded. "Absolutely."
He greeted Jalen, who was already snacking on a bag of chips. Jordan constantly got on Jalen's case about keeping his body together for when he got drafted, which he would be in a few weeks.
Jalen Clark was a guard at UCLA and would be going into the NBA this year. Sadly, he was going to be a lottery pick and wouldn't be available to draft by the time the Warriors picked so he wouldn't be able to play for the team his father owned.
Destiny was the only one of her siblings without basketball playing abilities, seeing as though Ryan played professionally as well.
"So, how have you been Jordan?" Janina asked as they all sat down.
"I been good. Enjoying the summer and staying in the gym."
"That's fantastic. Can't wait for you all to see our big board for the draft." Janine said. "We are thinking to go forward because we're good at guard. You and Donte' have us set for the future."
Didn't you just try to trade him? That was Destiny's immediate thought but she decided to shut up and not say anything.
"That's what's up." Jordan said as the food was brought out. "Looking forward to it."
They were having a seafood dinner with just about every seafood you could name. Destiny had a nasty seafood allergy when she was younger but she grew out of it over the years so this was about her second time having it.
"I wanna try a lobster." Destiny said, looking at the large shell-fish. "I've never had it ."
Jordan leaned over, squinting at it through his glasses. "Get him."
"His eyes, though." She said.
"You gotta get right to him, baby." He encouraged jokingly, pointing at it.
