"Hey, Jordan."
"What's good?" Jordan said through the phone. "I was calling to see what you was up to today."
Destiny climbed into back seat of her family's SUV sitting her purse next to her. "I just finished up at a shoot. What about you?"
"I just left the gym." Jordan slung a towel over his shoulder. "I wasn't doing nothing and I gotta take it easy because of my back."
She put her seatbelt on. "If you have to take it easy then why were you at the gym?"
"I was working with trainers."
"Do you want me to bring you something?"
"Mmm." Jordan hummed. "Just a conversation."
Destiny tapped Nathan, her driver, on his shoulder speaking politely. "Could you take me to Jordan's, please? His address should be saved in the GPS from when Jalen goes over there."
"Yes, Ma'am."
Jordan lived about 40 minutes from where Destiny was currently but that was fine because she didn't have anything to do. Wedding planning was... well, you know. She'd just finished work and her siblings were both busy today.
She'd never been to Jordan's house before but when they arrived, he was standing on his front step with a black cat cradled in his arms.
Destiny opened the car door, setting her foot on the concrete. "Thank you, Nathan."
"Hey, Nate." Jordan waved before adjusting the beanie over his head.
Destiny followed Jordan to his door, feeling the need to crack a joke. "Beanie and glasses, today? There must be a special occasion."
"Nah." He chuckled, opening the door. "How was work, shorty?"
"Shorty?"
"Not shawty." Jordan corrected. "Shorty. I don't have a nickname for you yet."
Destiny laughed. "Oh, okay. It was fine. Just retook some pictures for the summer line. To be honest, I don't think I have any plans other than the Warriors playoff games."
"That's what's up." Jordan sat the furry animal on the ground, pointing to it. "That's one is Kota. He's a little clingy but that's my dawg. Kai is around here somewhere."
Destiny kneeled down, running her fingers through the Kota's fur. "Hi, buddy."
The cat purred, rubbing his head against Destiny's hand. Jordan just laughed at how ironic that was since he was just running all over the place because he was hungry. "Move, nigga."
"Don't be mean to him." Destiny said to Jordan. "I can hold him."
Jordan shrugged. "Go ahead. You want anything out the kitchen?"
"Water, please."
Destiny cradled the small, furry animal in her grasp cooing at how loving he was. She'd never had a pet but she loved animals more than a lot of things. It didn't surprise her that Jordan loved animals as well.
"My name's Destiny." She spoke softly. "You're so cute."
Jordan walked into the front hallway, handing the water bottle to Destiny. "What you wanna do while we here?"
"You can give me a tour."
"You live a mansion that could house 100 people and you want a tour of my choice?" He asked, watching as she carefully put the cat down.
Destiny nodded. "Then we can go swimming like last time. Are you allowed to swim?"
"Yeah. I can swim." Jordan agreed to her plan, wholeheartedly because it was what she wanted to do. "You bring a swimsuit?"
