"I missed you, a lot."
Christian and Destiny had been back together for two days now and it was probably the longest 2 days of her life. That wasn't good either because she wasn't enjoying them. He'd been super affectionate and normally, she liked it but she didn't know how to feel about it now.
They were going to be together and that probably wouldn't change. What needed to change was how Jordan crossed her mind every few minutes.
"I missed you, too."
"I'm gonna grab a shower."
Destiny couldn't help but thank God as Christian took his shower. She laid on her back, blinking at the ceiling over and over again. She wanted to go home so badly but she couldn't face Ryan and Jalen.
They both were fine with whatever she did, but wanted her to know what she was doing. Clearly, she did not and she knew they'd want to talk about it, so she stayed over at Christian's.
Destiny talked to her mother and even her father who missed her more than anything. She was going to go see him at the arena later because the Warriors dropped a third straight game at Sacramento, but she didn't want to run into Jordan whom she agreed not to talk to.
"Oh, God." Destiny rolled onto her back as she once again found herself thinking about Jordan.
Why couldn't she have just kept her lips to herself?
Well, that was a loose term because Jordan kissed her because she asked him to. He was hesitant but he did it anyway, then did it again. That could've meant he felt something for her.
Maybe, or her did it because she practically begged him to. Jordan wouldn't have kissed her if she didn't ask him to. She still wasn't sure why she'd asked him to do that.
It was all the more reason why boys and girls shouldn't be friends because they always ended up kissing on beaches.
Jordan, too, was all out of sorts when he remembered the kiss. He didn't know if he kept thinking about it because he felt bad or if it was because he liked her. He might actually like her and he'd be a fool to say he didn't see it coming.
He'd heard she was back with her fiancé and they were figuring things out and of course, he was happy for her. That's what she wanted so he was unequivocally supportive of it. Jordan wasn't the kind to be bitter or anything like that.
Jordan knew what he was getting into as soon as he'd kissed that girl so he wasn't blindsided. In all honesty, he was doing a good job at not thinking about Destiny because he had bigger things to be concerned with.
For example, after winning the first three games against Sacramento, the Warriors dropped 3 straight games. Jordan only played a limited amount of time in three losses. The Warriors were still very precautionary and didn't want Poole playing heavy minutes.
Joe requested Jordan meet him at the arena the day before game 7 which he had no issue with. It was probably regarding his injury that still lingered when he played heavy minutes.
The arena was closed today and didn't open until later for practice and Jordan wasn't in the mood to break any rules, so he went straight to Joe's office.
"What's good, boss?"
"JP, come in and sit." Joe greeted him halfway, only looking up for a split second. "I didn't get a chance to talk to team doctors about your back this morning so how'd it go?"
Jordan bit his lip, unable to lie. "It's bruising when I go too hard and sore after the games but it's not messing with anything internally."
"Mm. Alrighty." Joe finally turned his attention to Jordan. "We'll see how you're feeling tomorrow before the game."
