I put the steaming cup of coffee in front of Elise. She's sitting right where the ray of afternoon sunlight hits her face. She's looking outside, at the cars passing by on the busy road. It's 4pm, and I have just started my shift at Books & Us when Elise arrived. I have only heard this morning from Rose Anne, that Jim had called JK Alison in the middle of the night because Elise had "dumped" Jim.

I sat in front of her, "So... spill."

"I did it," Elise said. "I put a label between me and Jim Inocencio."

I wanted to shake my head, but didn't. "What, friends?"

Elise smirked, "What else?"

I sighed, "El, don't go crying once that guy gets over you? I'm telling you that as your best friend."

"I won't," she said, smirking even wider. "That's the best thing for both of us, Sue. So no one can get hurt."

"Why do you always say that you will be hurt?" I said. "You haven't even started."

Elise laughed, "You perfectly know the answer yourself Suey."

"What, me?" I am not even in a relationship.

"Ow come on, everyone knows your and Montemayor have a 'thing'," she said.

"What?! Who said?!" I didn't have any idea!

"Ey... don't deny it. Both of you are just too polite for your own good," she laughed. She seemed to enjoy teasing me, "Anyway, I wonder where Jennie is. She told me she's coming today to meet me."

"Really?" It's been almost a year since we last saw Jen. She's been so busy, I heard. Juggling her academics and attending fashion shows abroad. She's really living up to her It Girl life.

"Yeah. We're always chatting, you know," she said, checking her phone. "Wait, she said she's here." Elise stood and looked at the entrance. A group of customers came in.

Then we saw someone enter after them. Well, it's not just us who saw-everyone in the cafe did. She's wearing a white oversized shirt and blue denim shorts, her orange-y hair blowing behind her as she walk. She spotted us and waved.

"Hiiii!" she said with a little jump and half-ran to us.

I swore I heard half of the cafe gasp. Jennie sat beside Elise. "I missed you guys!"

Elise put an arm around her, "I missed you big time, baby!"

Jennie blew a kiss to her, then to me, "Hi, Sue! How are you doing?"

"Same as before," I said, grinning.

"You mean busier than before?" she joked. "Ah, I got something for you guys." She placed a paper bag on the table.

Elise checked it, and gasped. "Chanel for us?"

"Yup," she took out three bottles of the N^5 perfume. "One for each of you, and Rosie. Where's my Rosie posie?"
