The truth

"Are you sure we want the nursery to be black, white, red, and orange?" Sasuke asked.

"Yes. We want black, white, orange, and red. It's going to be pretty," Naruto said.

"Okay," Sasuke said as he started with the black base color.

Naruto was going to draw the rest of the designs onto the wall which would be painted with specific colors.

Sasuke had no idea that when he was going to come back from a mission he was going to have to start painting, but that's okay.

Besides he's not doing it alone. At least he has Konohamaru helping out.

"Hey Dad check it out," Konohamaru called.

Sasuke looked over and saw him holding two paintbrushes behind his head.

"I'm Meogi," He said before laughing like a maniac.

He might have had his hopes up to high.

~Time skip~

Naruto had called them down to dinner just after they finished up with the second layer.

Sasuke swallowed Naruto's cooking like it was a gift from the gods.

"Slow down, before you choke," Naruto said as he rubbed circles on Sasuke's back.

The Alpha preened at the affection.

He really did miss the Omega.

Naruto's sweet scent, his calming pheromones, and his sweet smile were something Sasuke kept looking for while on the mission.

Sakura kept trying to give him, Kakashi, and Sai something to eat.

Sasuke had almost gone a day without food in fear of Sakura trying to sneak something on to his plate.

"Hey, Dad did you hear about Miss Haruno?" Kanohamaru asked.

Sasuke looked at the boy and shook his head.

"Well, apparently she went to Iruka-sensei to ask him for Mom's birth certificate and blood tests. Iruka-sensei said no. So she tried going over his head and asked the nurse. So she called Iruka-sensei. No one knows what was discussed in that office but Mebuki Haruno hasn't been heard from since," He said ominously.

"You are being dramatic. She was arrested for trying to get classified information. She's currently sitting in solitary confinement with Anko and Ibiki," Naruto said.

"Oh, come on. My story sounds so much better. Everyones going to wonder about the mystery of the head of the civilian council's disappearance. Not about where she is. People like a mystery," The young Alpha whined out.

"Rather the truth than a revolution," Naruto said as he took Sasuke's plate and refilled it.

"What's that mean?"

"It means that when someone hears that our government can hide someone away then the people fearing for their lives would start a revolution. You have to remember that the people outnumber the government 1000 to 1. The government knows that but the people don't," Naruto said.

"So that's why the Hokage hides things from us?" Konohamaru asked.

"Yes. Sometimes it's to protect someone other times it's to protect themselves. However, you have to remember that you still have corrupt politicians. So don't always take everything at face value," Naruto said.
